No for a long time. My most fond memories from vanilla WoW come from exploring a new game, learning my class exploring the surroundings, struggling and laughing with friends about it, this scenario is not something you see nowadays, everyone wants to rush to the level cap (even as new players) instead of exploring because the wiki/youtube guide said so.
Something I'll never forget are early warlock quests for succubus and felsteed. Shit was a pain in the ass but the reward was worth, even I made a friend during those quests.

this is why i really think MMOs need to go away from the level system, i like the idea of upgrading skills by using them without having an actual "level" but who am i kidding people would just be interested in farming the up to the highest level skills asap. change in mentality i guess.
wow was many, many peoples first mmo, also many peoples first large timesink game. MMOs are old news now, 90% of everyone who plays them is already beyond jaded and is simply looking for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, the over glorified endgame kahntent

Pretty much everyone I meet on Elysium is playing vanilla for the old school feel, and it truly feels like old school WoW playing with those people.
