Like a steambox? Doesn't seem like those went over well.

Between 6s-8s it looks like controller ports with indicator lights, which would lead me to believe it's a retro console. No modern console would have controller ports. Of course, there's no way to know for sure what the hell those things are.

"Speaking to Gamesbeat, Atari CEO Fred Chesnais confirmed that the decision to develop a new console was inspired by Nintendo’s success with the NES Mini. Keeping this in mind, it's possible that the Ataribox will be a reasonably priced bit of kit designed to play classic games.
Others believe it could be a fully-fledged machine capable of competing with PS4 and Xbox One. Atari has confirmed the new system is based on PC technology, but is yet to disclose any actual specs."

They look too long to be standard 2600 ports. Pic related is the port from a 2600. If those (in the video) were ports, it'd be more akin to PS1/2 size.

Atari is doing well. They came back from bankruptcy, and just recently made it back into the black from small ventures. That said, there is no way they have the capitol to jump into the console wars. They can't just fuck around and keep that kind of bankroll hidden because they have shareholders to answer to. And this isn't a movie where there's some anonymous mega-investor in the shadows. Also, it is in its infancy. Practically concept-only. If they had already begun serious design or pre-production, info would have been leaked by now. It's the nature of the beast.
So, whatever it is, I think it's probably on a really small scale.
THIS SHIT GUNNA BE LIT
