Before they enabled the option, I had like a hundred screenshots saved up to try and find a pattern for them.

And now that you can set them to visible, it quickly becomes obvious that there's no sensible fucking patterns to it beyond

Is it worth getting Mystery Chronicles if I already played the original? Heard it has issues like loading times and changes to core mechanics that hinder gameplay.

Why is NPC system so shitty ? Like, when you have only one, you're guaranteed that ennemies hitting from behind will hit your partner, but when you have 3 it's fucking random, and that girl with fire magic is too frail. I hate this. Though my run was going to be god tier with her + Aerdou + Chubby Cole, but no.

MC OWH started development before OWH+ did, so it doesn't have a lot of those QoL changes that were introduced in it.

I'm playing on a toaster, but while the original runs smoothly, this feels less so. I can't think off the top of my head of any changes to core mechanics, but it's been a while.

Isn't it always random? I could have sworn there was always a chance for them to bypass your ally and hit you. I feel like that might be exclusive to force attacks though.

When you have only one ally, there's 100% chance it takes damages from behind, 50% from sides
I don't think it applies to force damages though. There's also no damage multiplication with these

Oh, a Duelist Charm. Last time I used one of these, it easy modo carried me to the end of my run. It also made it impossible to continue without it, since the summoned duelist stole all my EXP.

It's timed. The last time I used it, it followed me 3-400 km, and was level 347 when I let it kill the Fallen Angel shortly before it was about to expire.

Also, does anyone else have problems moving diagonally with the arrow keys in MCOWH? No problem with the originals, but it has an odd lag in MC, and was the reason I ended up stepping into that sleep trap.

Not sure what differences you're looking for, but here's some basic stuff.

OWH+
>11 classes
>8 main companions
>5 basic weapon variations
>livefeed that updates on other people playing in the same world seed
>OST is freeware, so it has literally over 100 tracks in it, and they're all damn good

MCOWH

>11 main companions
>8 basic weapon variations
>livefeed requires twitter integration and doesn't seem to actually be live, also has less information

Never played the PSP or PS4 version, so I can't say whether or not it was a good port, but I honestly don't think the framerate matters much for a roguelike.

It runs a lot slower than the original game, but I play on a toaster, which might be the problem.

MC OWH is roughly a couple dozen times lewder than the original. Basically all companions are Naughty-tier dialogue by default.

I feel like that's bullshit. You should really be able to save both and get an alternate ending for their stories, especially considering that in order to pull that off you have to build your character and plan your run around getting both.

OWH had some really nice touches, like having Albert and Dosey in your party would translate Dog Dosey's dialogue, revealing that she's still sentient.

Then again, having Frieda/Galtz/Victor in one party adds basically no additional dialogues from what I remember.

Oh, some more things, the minimap in MC is a lot less informative than OWH+. OWH+ you could see some general tile changes, and could likely spot towns from that, even without a town locator active. But there's basically no chance of that happening in MCOWH, you can only see mountains, water, lava, and trees on the minimap tiles.

Equipment enchants in OWH+ moved to specific scrolls giving specific enchants, but MCOWH still uses the original mechanic for one scroll giving random enchantments.

Getting equipment is always random, like a normal roguelike.
