She's probably one of the best beginner characters. Really simple combos. Her punishes are pretty straight-forward. The only thing that sucks is that her moves are pretty slow so you need to have really solid defense with her. She's an extremely fundamental character who doesn't have too much trickery, so if you are trying to learn the game, she's probably your best option.

Other top fighters, namely Street Fighter, KoF and MK/Injustice have advanced impressively in their latest installments; but the relic that is tekken just can't seem to evolve, furthermore many combos can be done simply by hitting 1-button, and the nearly "instant-kill" rage art moves are just laughably broken. Instead of a supplying a proper fighting engine, matches in T7 seem to rely heavily on "who can get their rage move off first". So many elements of the gameplay don't even require any sort of skill. In my book, slow motion over and over again also gets old very quickly. And in the end, it's more of a novelty or gimmick rather than an actual, thought-out fighting game mechanic. But hey, the casual crowd will be pleased!

If you block high he hits with a low, and if you start to block low he starts with the mids. The kicks come out so fast it's all just a blur of legs coming at me. It's pure 50/50 guesswork which he's going to use and if by chance I do get it right I'm too surprised by the block that there's no time to get the punish out because he's back at it with another onslaught of kicks.

Taunt Jet Upper is not even 100% vital. You can play Bryan well without it, the tech itself just adds to the threat once you have an idea as to what you are doing.

How is King in terms of difficulty picking up? I'm totally new to Tekken, have about 25 hours played. I like Akuma a lot because his combos sort of translate from Street Fighter which is all I know. I can only manage about one combo on Steve Fox, and a couple Bryan fury combo's I just spent 40 minutes learning. I find these combo's difficult, but extremely satisfying to pull off.

Just pick one character and stick to it. I haven't played Jin but I can give some insight on Kazuya. While Kazuya's execution requires some skill, the character itself is not that hard to play. You have your couple go-to buttons that you will want to spam and fish counterhits. Only problem with Kazuya is that your best launcher during standing is electric. If you can't perform it 100% of the time, you will be missing a lot of damage because that's your launcher punish. It's good to note that Kazuya's electric is much easier than on other Mishimas because you can skip the down input. As Kazuya you can do F, N, D/F and it will count as the full input. Also Kazuya's combo dmg is rather low, unless you are skilled enough to get at least four electrics into the combo, but that's pretty advanced stuff.

I think Jin has a launcher from standing that's not electric, he might be easier character to start playing because you are not that tied to using electrics.
