What I mean by legs is that the PS3 started extremely expensive so sales increased heavily over time as the price kept dropping. For PS4 alone to be doing just as well as PS3/360 combined when normalfags that just care about streaming have $40-50 alternatives means that people do see it as a good value. Add in approximately 30M more for Xbone numbers and people do care about gaming and playing DVD/Bluray movies and streaming stuff.
Just because it alone isn't keeping pace with PS2 doesn't mean it's doing poorly, or that it failed.

PS4 is literally the only platform with games right now. It has quite a few good to excellent exclusives that aren't on PC and are securely planted in never ever territory. most PC exclusives are low budget trash made in some neckbeards basement.

Also everyone owns a PC anyway. You don't need a 1080 to play 99.99999% of those exclusives. If I want to play Popcorn Vendor Simulator 7 I can do it on a toaster. When you talk PC exclusives the only thing that's really comparable are those that would require a separate hardware purchase in the same way that a console requires a separate hardware purchase. And the fact is that almost every single game that requires a high end graphics cars is a multiplat.
