what was patrician about that game? maybe the fact, that every mission/quest, whatever you call it, was basically the same apart from three - first one, the one that marked the transition between regions and the last one? or maybe the faction system, which was basically nonexistent and i have no idea why factions even existed at all. bosses of those factions always told you: "have this envelope, do this, people of my faction dont know you are working with me so they will shoot you, lol" - every fucking mission.

the only thing i find patrician about it is the best optimization ive ever experienced. game runned smoothly on my ubertoaster back then.

Which FC game has proper factions? 3/4 are a tad bit better, but its the same

i dont rember it being difficult at all. buddies sytem was really watered down, nothing special. the last mission where they all betray you was so cliche "huh mercenaries are supposed to betray each other, we saw this in a couple of movies". well, it has some nice scenery and the fighting wasnt that bad, but still overall, it was one of the most boring games ive ever played. 14 yo me must have been very patient. nowadays i would have stopped after reaching like 3-4 hours.

It is the most overrated game ever. Took itself so seriously unlike other GTAs. It had the most boring city design in any GTA. The Liberty City in it was not different from any other generic open world game. It also felt so empty and soulless. Only good things about it were the side characters and driving.
