I played MGS2 while my sister watched for a while and once I got the part where she dies in otacons arms things for me got real.

Rando wasn't fit to rule, but he didn't deserve to die. He was strong physically, but Brad left him weak emotionally and he was unfortunately naive. He wanted to see the best in people even when there wasn't any.
In an ideal world Rando would have been able to live, as he had never done anything wrong to deserve being executed like he was. However the point of LISA's story is that it isn't an ideal world, so his end made sense. Still sad though.

Also Buddy ain't gonna control the world and save it, they are pretty much doomed. Can't repopulate humanity with 1 woman.
