Just buy the soundtrack.

It is
>>

I'm not sure if it is or is not
>>
>>381682816
Yes.
>>
>>381682816
If you like the first one then yes.

/v/ just hates it because it's hard and they don't understand the difficulty is treat like a continuation of the first game.
>>
>>381682816
It's the SMB2 Lost Levels of the series. Expect a difficult game and you will be satisfied.
>>
>>381682816
Totally worth it

AT LEAST GIVE ME MY PAYDAY 2 DUMB CUNT DLC YOU PROMISED YOU FUCKS
>>
>>381682816
Yeah. I'm not a huge fan of the series or twin stick shooters in general but for $4 you can't go wrong.
>>
>>381683479
Doesn't have anything to do with difficulty. The mechanics are worse and the level design is terrible.
>>
fuck me Tony was so fucking amazing, i couldnt get enough
>>
>>381682816
Hotline Miami 1 is infinitely better.
>>
>>381682816
Yes
>>

I have hotline miami 1
>>
>>381682816
its a continuation of HM1, twice as long with slower tempo and more heavily focused on the story, but it is very good, its misses the mark sometimes, but when it hits, it hits fucking hard
as its just 4 bucks, i say go for it
>>
>>381684978
HM2 is like if they made a whole game out of the last levels of HM1. They're generally a lot bigger and you need to use guns to win. If you're looking for small, tight levels you can get through fast and use melee you may be disappointed. There's a lot more dialogue too. Fantastic soundtrack though. More different than bad, hard to go wrong for $4.
>>
>>381684149
how are the mechanics worse exactly?
>>
>>381682816
hotline miami 1 + 2 really good

pros

fun game
nice mood
cool music
story is like a film
lots of cool usermade maps
u will understand more memes on the internet after u finish it

cons

u win whole game by making ur enemies go around the corner
>>
HM gave me awful motion sickness
>>
>>381685986
He is exaggerating, but they did completely fuck how shotguns projectiles work.
>>
>>381685986
Winning requires more trial and error because of larger levels. Often you'll get shot by guys off screen, which you couldn't even have seen by holding shift. It is frustrating to have to repeat a big floor because you were blindsided just before clearing it. Also the soldier levels suck ass because you arbitrarily can't pick up enemy guns.
>>
>>381684149
>>381686492
The level design is based around the character you play as, which is why there are larger levels and why people complain so much about them.
The Cop has a shotgun flip and gun executions, making him more suited to gunfights, which is seen in Dead Ahead.
Meanwhile, The Soldier has a gun at all times, and can switch between that gun and his knife at a moment's notice, so his very open levels are based around that mechanic.
>>
>>381685986
>aiming has ridiculously awful mouse acceleration that you can't turn off
>melee swing speed reduced
>slower movement speed
>executions are now so slow that it's often faster/safer to wait for enemies to get up instead of finishing them on the ground
>bullet spray is now random
>fewer (sometimes no) mask choices per level
>no level-spawned random unlockable weapons
>fat people have timers instead of health
HM1 was all about speed and melee, HM2 is all about guns.

Hotline Miami 2 is another filter game that destroys shitters and make them cry about "bad RNG game".

HM2 was my first HM game and I've finished hard mode on A+ / S every single level. It was both exciting to play and challenging enough.

After that I've bought HM1 and finished it too - god it's such a dumbed down experience after HM2.
>>
>>381686953
HM2 really opened my eyes and made me realize how utterly trash most of /v/ is at video games.
>>
yes, its miles better then the first one

Learned it both with HM2 and Darkest Dungeon.

nu-/v/ is just neofag subplebbit with console players. Of fucking course they are awful at video games.
>>
>>381686701
Even the small levels in HM2 are kind of a mess. When it comes to some Jake or Richter levels, they're almost identical to HM1 layouts, but enemy placement and mechanical differences (and windows) make it a totally different experience. In HM1, you probably could've run through them killing everyone. In HM2, you have to get a gun immediately.
>>
>>381682816
Its four fucking dollars Anon. That's half a burger from a good joint or Wendy's 4 for $4 meal, of which features a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger, chicken nuggets, fries and a drink. Finally a quality meal at an affordable price.

Only atWendy'scan you find the Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger, made with fresh, never-frozen 100 percent beef and fresh-cooked, thick-cut Applewood Smoked Bacon. And what better way to complement this classic cheeseburger than with four all white-meat chicken nuggets, natural cut sea salt fries, and drink. All for only the price of 4 dollars.

In fact, during a recent test market, customers shared their passion on various boards, with one customer calling the new 4 for$4Meal 'The best invention since the Sun!'

Ask yourself which you'd rather have and you know the answer in your heart.
>>
>>381687601
>mechnical differences
That's the keyword.
Guns are much safer and more reliable than in the first game from a mechanical standpoint.
>shoot to kill
>longer lock-on range

Jake's level's are also based around his lethal throws, nailgun, or very fast nunchuks, so there's that.
>>
>>381682816

It's worth $20
>>
>>381682816
As someone who fucking loved the first game and got some really high ranking scores, the second is just as good. Its a fucking great game. I even got some top 150 ranks on the levels. Get it, especially for that price.

Eh yeah. The level design of the HM2 is nowhere near as good as HM1 but you can just make your own with the level editor, you can even create your own custom sprites and shit if you really want your custom campaign to be unique.

>all that baiting

Precisely why HM2 is inferior to 1
>>
>>381686953
This webm shows exactly why HM2 was such a letdown. Silenced pistol cover-shooting is the last thing I wanted out of a sequel.
>>
>>381690596
This picture sums it up pretty well.
HM2 has too much of an emphasis on guns and large, open areas. It's not particularly bad, just different. I couldn't get into it.
>>
>>381686953
I don't think there's any RNG in Hotline Miami. If there is, I never really noticed it.
Also your .webm is exactly why people were upset about HM2's level design. The first game rewarded the player for running through levels and bashing skulls like a lunatic. HM2 rewards players for standing in the corner and popping conga lines of enemies as they come through choke points.

Jesus christ they got really fucking lazy in the later levels. Just look at that webm, the amount of detail and decoration in that floor is so fucking sparse it's like a babbys first HM2 level editor level except it's actually an official level. Just make a mish mash of different rooms without thinking of how the player can link up combos (because they'll just run towards the player anyways) and toss in a fuck load of guys with guns and giga niggas. If it wasn't for the level editor I would have never touched this game after I finished it the first time.

Yeah except you will never do a successful combination for A+ or S on hard mode if you'd run like a retard.

Your whole complaint is based on how easy it was to play in the first game with simplistic shit tier levels and in HM2 it's MUCH harder to make a chain of kills without dying and that makes a game way more interesting to play.

Fuck off any time with your babby's first HM, it was only good because it was the first game, gameplay-wise HM2 is superior in every possible way.

It isn't though because the combo timer in HM2 is way, way longer than HM1, and there are more enemies. In HM1 it was all about running through a level killing everyone in melee as fast as possible to get A+. You don't use guns and chokepoints as much because enemies randomly survive bullets and rooms are smaller. In HM2, it's all guns and chokepoints.

It's not any harder (except for shitty aiming due to unfixed mouse acceleration bug), it's just different and way worse.
>>
>>381694759
Three of four the Richter levels open up to rooms with fat guys.
>>
>>381695081

Yeah show me your A+ on hard mode, I'd like to see that.
Oh wait, you have nothing but C/B there or didn't even play hard mode at all.

Having everyone fight like Jacket was stupid.
I love the game but improvisational combat was Jacket's thing, it's stupid to have every character basically be a Jacket clone.
