Why did a Wii-style FPS control peripheral/scheme never take off? The Wii had a lot of issues but I always thought one of the best things about it were how FPS games controlled on it. Despite their technical limitations, I had a lot of fun with Red Steel 2 and the Metroid Prime remakes. Controlling an FPS with the Wiimote feels great, so I'm kinda surprised more people haven't tried to apply it towards a game running on modern hardware.

I think it's mostly because customers might view it as a gimmick after a lot of the motion controls are for kids opinions. I think the PS4 shooters could try out gyro aiming as an option using the bar thing as a toggle.
Goldeneye on Wii was good, the two Conduit were also good. I think they just didn't sell well enough to justify a trend

This, I had a blast with the multiplayer in the Conduit
