Why does /v/ hate the best castlekino?

The level design is annoying trash that gets by on the excuse that it's "challening". It feels like you're in the clocktower for the whole fucking game.
Oh, and the bosses are overrated.
How many tries, anon?
A part of it is because it came right after the best DS Castlevania.
To be specific, however... it just failed on every front. Worst protagonist of any Castlevania game. Couldn't decide if it wanted to be a throwback Castlevania or a Metroidvania, so it failed on both fronts. It was unsatisfying to explore, and the game wasn't even remotely challenging. The controls were REALLY bad - not bad enough to generate a challenge, but it made the game unfun to play. The glyph system was godawful, especially compared to the fun systems in PoR and DoS. Ironically the art style was even worse than the preceding games - apparently they couldn't get Kojima to come back for character designs, so they hired her terrible deviantART imitator. Shit music. As someone else mentioned, the bosses weren't particularly fun or inventive.
People praise it because Shanoa is their waifu and disparage the other games because they couldn't see past the generic anime portraits, which have zero impact on the game's art direction anyway.

The fuck? They're the same as in the other DS games.
