Is it true that this game gets boring quickly, /v/? I'm looking for a sandbox game that I can reliably fall back to when I'm bored with other games.

It's definitely a reliable game for when you just want to chill out and be comfy. Building any variation of house or structure you want never really gets boring, and hunting for abandoned mines and stuff is actually pretty neat.
For me, I end up playing Minecraft for about a month furiously, then take a break for 2, then I get a craving to build another house so I go back to it.
Worth checking out despite the autistic fanbase. It also has excellent music..
unironically NMS on sale

It falls into the same cycle as a lot of survival games where it starts off really hard and engaging but eventually you get bootstrapped and have to rely on your autism for building projects to provide any sort of challenge.
If you play one world for a long time it can be really annoying when updates wipe out your achievements.
