I don't know why but the playerbase is really bad right now. Compared to Zurvan EX which was easier than Susano I hardly had any trouble with it when joining farm parties but for Susano I struggled to just get 3 wins out of them. Everytime it's because the DPS keep dying and he hits enrage.

Fucking with the DPS that tanks and healers can do was a really bad idea. This job balance and simplification is pretty atrocious in general. The game needs to decide to be challenging enough to make healing and tanking a full time job, or to concede that DPS is everybody's responsibility so that tanks and healers have something to do when they aren't taking a shit load of damage.

I think it comes down to fans criticising him for his ARR review. How harsh they really were I don't know, but some I've seen pointed out his flaws and mistakes. He got comments on that review for over a year.

Because of this he then ranted about the entire XIV community, calling them fanboys. That rant was like two years ago.

Recently he had a stream where he would go through 2.X as far as he can take. He hated the game so much he refused to pay attention and asked WHY WE DO THIS constantly when it came to content like Ramuh (where he also shat on the music). It was obvious that he didn't want to give the game a second chance and honestly nobody should have expected anything else, but I think he took it too far at times. Being unreasonable but calling the XIV community that.

He didn't say what those tricks were until one incident where a NPC was happy to see the WoL. He pointed out that this is one of SE's tricks. Making you/r character feel special and all important to get you hooked, despite how many other players there are.

Most garleans soldiers aren't really garleans, they aren't even considered citizens. They are people from captured villages/cities like ala mhigo, but decided to join the military to become official citizens (with 15 or so years of service).

As far as I know WoW brushes the player aside and basically just has you there as a witness or spectator to the stories while other characters take the spotlight as protagonists and what not. While this kind of works in the sense that not every player is the great hero and savior of the world. FF14 would rather ask you to suspend your disbelief to think of the other players as adventurers rather than chosen heroes like yourself. Frankly I prefer FF14's approach because it makes the story more personal and you are involved in it. You beat the raid boss, you saved the world, you take the credit. You make friends, friends die, feelings are hurt. Meanwhile in WoW, some other faggot steps in after you've beaten the boss and kills him off and takes all the credit. It's all about them, you're nobody. I can see why some might prefer that, but I don't.

Now that pvp/pve mechanics are completely separate they can make changes to either without affecting the other which is one of the big reasons they did it in the first place.

That said I don't think they'll need to make any sweeping changes to pvp from here out, just some balance stuff to reign one or another class in.

Hi, I only started playing XIV last week, because my life has recently become an empty shell and I needed a pointless MMO to fill the gap. I'm actually fucking loving it.

A few questions, I went with Conjurer first, and I've been levelling all the trade skills simultaneously. Is this sensible re: the trade skills? I just got retainers so I have space for the absurd amount of trade goods.

Second question, I actually am a fucking moron and have always been a skanky dps when I've played mmos before but I figured I'd try a healer this time. Is healing simple in this game? I did the basic early main scenario dungeons (the first three) and its essentially just clicking on low health bars and the occasional AoE heal when people fuck up. I assume more skills and trickier bosses will change that but right now my job seems simple and people keep giving me commendations (when either the tank seems to have the harder job of leading the group, or the DPS has been carrying us.

As far as crafting and gathering go, they are not worth bothering with unless you go all in and level a whole bunch of them because you need to cross-class skills to make any high quality stuff, and high quality stuff is the only shit worth making. I would save it for later but if you are having fun just do what you like.

Healing is pretty simple, but probably also the most challenging role you can play (note that the skill ceiling for this game is pretty low no matter what you play) At least I personally find that tanking and damage dealing quickly becomes mind numbingly repetitive, but with healing you kind of have the unpredictability of your party to deal with as well, and if you have any intent of being useful you will try to deal damage when no one is taking much damage which means you should pretty much always be having something to do.

I would play as a male character if the game at least hinted that a female character is romantically interested in male WoL (and if I knew how to create a decent-looking male character), but the very few examples in the game are bisexuals (and interested in just sex most of the time).
