is this the greatest videogame of all time?
>>381657603
AoS is the better game, you fucking nostalgia faggot
>>381657685
but it's ranked 4th place on EGM's list of 100 greatest games of all time
surely you can't refute this?
It's gretty bud but not as good as pic related
>>381657685
>a derivative sequel that looks and sounds worse with superpowers that make the game's difficulty a joke is better than the game that started it all
>>381658016
>implying SOTN isn't also a joke
Aria is actually harder. Not mega hard, but SOTN is piss easy.

>>381657603
I can never decide between these. AoS has tighter, more focused design and the way it implements souls as a combat mechanic, exploration tool, and completionist trap is fan-fucking-tastic. But SotN just has so much more, and isn't afraid to be more cryptic, so you can make new discoveries with it years down the line from beating it the first time. It's like trying to compare Zero Mission to SM.
>>381657603
OoC was better.
>>381657603
I love SotN but my favorite Castlevania is actuallyDawn of Sorrow.
Are the DS games fine to emulate or do they have any touch screen nonsense?
>>381658275
>Dawn of Sorrow
that level design though
>>381658391
They have some touch screen nonsense, but it's not too bad.
>>381658016
>thinking that SotN is harded than AoS
>not thinking that AoS has a much better level design
confirmed for being a biased nostalgia fag
>>381658275
SotN and OoE have the best bosses of the series but most of the areas were pretty bland
>>381657603
Lords of Shadow 2 is unironically the best Castlevania
>>381657603
Top tier, not greatest. Voice acting was superb even though some faggots claim it sounded like some school play. Best Castlevania without doubt.
what the fuck was his deal?
>>381658523
Thanks. Usually buy shit but swear to god only 2 physical copies of each Castlevania game got realised in the UK
>>381658576
>>381659037
Just get them off Amazon, like £20 each and DS games are region free, mine are all US versions
No, because it was surpassed by just about every Castlevania game after it, with a few exceptions.

What's wrong with it? Too linear? I didn't have a problem with it when I played it, but I was 16-17 at the time and much less critical. Now I'm too tainted by nostalgia to judge objectively.
>>381657685
lol
>>381660145
More redundant than linear. One of my most vivid memories of the game is one of the early areas having a section that's just zig-zagging hallways stacked vertically with a weak monster on each of them. Kinda like expanding on the souls system and making it more pokemon-y was the priority over level design.
>>381658576
LoS1 was an alright game with scenery porn
LoS2 is only good for the scenery porn
>>381657603
>SOUL STEAL
>game broke
>>381657603
that's a weird picture of kuja from final fantasy 9, which you must be talking about
