I want to play Ys. Where's a good place to get started?

This is the order, not a rating
The best idea would be to play 1&2 first but the some people find the gameplay clunky so it is better starting with oath to get a taste of the best the series has to offer
Playing Origin first is also okay

Play the newest remake of each. Ys 5 is considered awful so it's not in the list.
