It was always shit. It's one of those games you can only play as an entry level Weeaboo because

1. If you've ever actually been to Japan all the Americanisms stand out like a sore thumb. It's how Americans who've never left their country imagine Japan and just as pathetic in how many mistakes it makes in the culture, attitutes and even daily life. It's like when you hear people talk about Japanese characters tipping, or measuring things in feet.

2. Unless you're completely unfamiliar with VN, you can see where all the strings are attached in this, the routes are almost random and the railroading is insane. Right at the start, if you follow your doctor's specific orders you're automatically locked into a route, your only other option is to literally ignore the advice of a health professional, which is the only way to even talk to any other girl. The rest of the routes are no better.

3. The writing is amatuerish and you can see the compromises that went on. They argued about making Emi a virgin or not, so they kind'a awkwardly throw an ex-bf that's irrelevant to everything in there and have you just randomly slip it into her ass (because that can happen?), Hanako's route feels like it was re-written again and again right to the point of release because it makes no fucking sense, it contradicts itself over and over and it feels like a friendship route that was salvaged from the ashes to become a romantic one. Lilly's is somehow actually fine, the stupid shit with the Council doesn't need to be mentioned and Rin was terrible. Hell you can see this in how they couldn't decide if it should be a porn game or not, so the sex is utterly lacklustre and the art is beyond mediocre.

I could go on and on, but it's honestly only notable because it was made as a community effort and it's played by people who wouldn't usually ever play a VN.
