If you land on their heads using an updraft, you can "steer" them around, since they're programmed to move away from Link if he's too close to them. It takes some getting used to, but it can be fun to do if you're just dicking around.

Likewise, you can force a Guardian to follow you nearly anywhere, so long as you have somewhere to hide closeby. Whenever you leave a Guardian's sight, they always start moving towards the last place they saw you. Repeat this, and you can get them to travel well beyond their normal patrol range.

If you manage to get them into a "safe zone", such as a stable, or a shrine, they will outright stop attacking you.

I think it's safe to assume that most of a Guardian Stalker's weight comes from its black and gold outer "shell". The actual interior parts are likely some lightweight, unknown alloy.

Although they can move pretty fast, it kind of sucks that they don't move nearly as quickly in-game as they do in the cutscenes. Not to mention they also struggle to scale walls or sudden inclines, whereas cutscenes show Guardians capable of scaling 90 degree angle surfaces without issue.

I'm guessing that would have been too troublesome to program without their path finding AI getting all fucked, or clipping issues getting in the way. Still, it would have made them a lot scarier to encounter.

Once I got over shitting my pants at the sight of them, Guardians became really cute to me. It sort of helped when I snuck up on one and beat the crap out of it with a laser sword, to the point where it started shooting lasers into the distance in tandem with my attacks. Like it was trying to say "OH MY GOD PLEASE STOP" in the only language in knows (killing). Even though they're deadly terminator machines, they manage to become adorably goofy once they start struggling.

The 100 years part bugs me in BotW. In ATLA, you actually see how the world changed so much during that time, theres whole episodes in the first season about Aang coping up with the fact everyone he used to know is dead and the world is not the same.

But in BotW, you could have easily switched the time skip to 1 week, and it wouldn't make a difference. The world Link used to know is exactly the same as the one you see during the game.
