>>
Depends on if the music was performed by analog or digital instruments.

>mfw I have been collecting records for 10 years and have over 500 LP's
Time to add Sonic to the pile, baby
>>
>>381632286
it's by data discs, you got any of thier other vinyls?
>>
I kind of want it just for the art. I have the ship to shore Earthbound vinyl and it does not disappoint.
>>
>>381632407
I don't own it, but I've listened to their release of OutRun on my turntable. The record really pretty (I handled the green one) and I love the packaging and inserts.
>>
Vinyl is making a come back due to its lossless sound quality, and collectable nature.
>>
>>381631798
Where the fuck am I going to find a record player in this day and age?
>>
>>381633967
I see them at most department stores these days.
>>
>>381633828
It can't be lossless you can buy the soundtrack to CAD:The Animated Series on vinyl.
>>
>>381633828
>due to its lossless sound quality
You're a fucking idiot.
>>
>>381632027
This.

Fucking 'a, if it's digital instruments, there is no goddamn point to using a vinyl record.
>>
>Musicians play analog instruments, record on analog tape, and then press a finished analog product on Vinyl

Perfectly fine.

>Musicians play on midi or digital instruments/software, record on digital software, press the final product on vinyl

LMAO What?!
>>
>>381631798
"true" hipsters would understand that it's lame

Streets of Rage I and II on vinyl is fucking amazing. I am anon, and I am unironically shilling for Data Discs. That is all
>>

>>381634372
Vinyl is objectively inferior to CDs in multiple ways. The "analog is better because X" argument is 100% bullshit.
>>
>>381634753
I'm not an audiofag but my understanding is that vinyl captures a more organic sound true to the instruments recorded. And that recording digital sound to vinyl doesn't have any reason.
>>
>>381635234
But you're fine if analog stuff is put on CD?

Digital audio can sound good on vinyl, it just has to be properly mastered to deal with the limitations of the medium
>>
>>381635160
Most people who believe "analog music from the 60s doesn't sound as good as CD" most likely listened to beat up vinyl on a $20 turntable.

It's a novelty, people like the warm sound and feint hissing. It sounds more organic to audiophiles than an effect trying to accomplish the same thing.
>>
nobody has record players any more

Extremely, but it's entirely worth it.
>>
>>381635160
>>381635485
Audio has to be specifically mastered for vinyl pressings. It's not unheard of for instruments that were lost in the mix for CD/digital releases to be audible on the vinyl pressing.
That's one of the few objective benefits to vinyl though.
