Personally I'm holding off on making the final judgement until I've had a chance to play it once again including all the DLCs. The expanded content might take it up a notch or two. My only real wish is for a harder difficulty mode because the combat can feel like a breeze at times due to the infinite elixirs you have at your disposal . They even had this option in the survey. Which was my choice understandably. Also, please don't post any more webms. I'm taking a break from the game so that it feels fresh when I get back into it. Just start SMTIV too.

Great game with a great ending coming off the heels of the "ff13 """trilogy""" " Definitely inspired me to believe in Square's handling of the franchise again. Granted it does have faults, but its normal for ff games to have storyline faults. They are so often confusing, self contradicting messes. I feel it started somewhere around 10. Lots of stuff felt confusing and self contradicting, all just so they could have a twist ending. They just got worse from there. Well, XV's story problems do feel different from other ff's, in that they feel more like holes then contradictions.

I can't even tell if this is just FFXV-kun circling jerking himself. Let's be real this game had a lot to be desired.

Although I've also got a sickening feeling about it. Aranea mentions in the trailer that she met noct at tenebrae, meaning this happens after you technically see her last in the main game. We also aren't 100% positive the person prompto shoots is his father. He also could've been lying when he said she was roaming around the world of ruin.

If you go back and look at that scene it starts off with just Noctis and Ardyn, then it shows from Ardyn's POV him looking at Noctis to see him with his bros and Regis, then Ardyn shakes his head and then Noctis is by himself again. Basically they were just a "my friends are with me in spirit" kind of thing that Ardyn was seeing on Noctis before he shook his head.

It also wouldn't make much sense for the bros do lose against a few regular iron giants when they had been fighting daemons for 10 years straight and you could already wreck them before the time skip

when you're at hammerhead in the timeskip if you use the caravan 3 times you get three different conversations for each character, gladio mentions him wanting to marry his gf, ignis says something about opening up a restaurant, prompto says he's strong enough to even go and take out daemons on his own.

When you're in insomnia there is some random banter they have, one has Gladio mentioning there's gonna be a big cleanup after everything is said and done, and the other had Noctis ask Ignis if he would be able to tell when the dawn comes back and Ignis said yeah.

The game mechanics are what makes the game too easy.

Why they changed the gameplay so much from the duscae demo beats me. Parrying was actually something that needed at least a bit of skill and timing to pull off consistently.

I think Tabata is already moved on to working on his new IP, because Shida is the director of the DLC episodes and Nakazawa is the director of the update content, and Tohya is co-director on episode Prompto. I think Tabata is mainly at this point just in a "producer" role for the new XV content while other people who were on the XV team are actually directing it now

I thought it was alright. I didn't get to chapter 13 until after it was patched and dont really know why it was so bad. Id rather not know.

Once i got to postgame it was even better. Flying car, Pitioss Ruins, the menace dungeons, etc i fucking loved that stuff.

I think the story should have demanded you get all the royal arms before leaving to altissia. If you don't know its a point of no return you can get there pretty underleveled with so much of Lucis unexplored its a shame

Takatsugu Nakazawa is the director of the updates "Update Director" as he's credited as during the ATR, and he was the lead of the RPG system in the main game.

I was enjoying some parts of the game, driving around, doing hunts, even retarded battle system. But that enjoyment came partly from the expectations for all the stuff that was lying ahead -- story and it's resolution, cool side content (seeing those locked doors in dungeons I was expecting there to be something grand, not same copy pasted rooms with bullshit amounts of enemies just for the sake of it; and you still have to be extra retarded to die to them it's just extremely annoying to fight them). When you finish the game, shed a tear at the FF theme playing and seeing Noctis and Luna together and after some time realize nothing you were expecting was really there and you feel no satisfaction whatsoever, you finally see what a mess the game is.

The entirity of this scene is perfectly done, from delivery and performance to how it conveys Noctis struggling to tell his friends that he's accepted his death. This also being a scene as a flashback works in tandem with the previous scene where Noctis bids farewell to his bros on the steps, telling them the words his father told him the last time he saw him, followed by his death at the hand of the previous kings and ultimately his father. The scene following that which has him summoning the kings out from him to kill Ardyn for good as Noctis too then completely dies, the choreography and impact of that scene, especially when seeing the bros, Regis and Luna coming to Noctis's side briefly in defiance of Ardyn all further nail down the severity of it, and Luna "healing" Ardyn even at the last moments further shows how selfless she was, even when that was something Ardyn more than likely was just visioning which meant even he saw her as that.

Followed by the credits where the lines from the start where they push the car where that was their biggest worry at the time, juxtaposed with what had just transpired, followed by the photos of your journey along with stand by me playing, which fits perfectly into the actual overarching story of the game with the night too, and it just nails the whole brotherhood theme.

The emotional impact this scene has is unmatched in FF because of how well the characters are presented as humans throughout the game, because of how well done their animations are done to make them more believable.

The only other vidya ending that can make you cry like this is Mother 3.

I got really burnt out and won't touch the game again for a long time. I was a bit disappointed because I didn't think the majority of the game took place in two areas. Even if they're small areas, I like traveling through many places in FF because it feels like an adventure around the world. I like the linear part of XV a little more than others do because of this. It's a damn shame you couldn't explore much of the new locations if at all. Fucking Tenebrae was the most interesting looking place to me in trailers. Now after I'm burnt out, the Prompto dlc allows you to explore the snow area more. I 100% the game before it started getting so many updates so I can't enjoy the new cool stuff. I would tell my past self to hold off on buying it until they were done updating it so I could enjoy the better framerate and additional content to its fullest. As of now, I don't know if I ever want to touch the game again. I liked it though, I was just disappointed the world didn't feel as vast as I had hoped and the story didn't capture me at any point. I was pretty spoiled by the first Xenoblade.
