A fun game

A fun and different experience from other Metroid games. Not as explorable, more story driven. There are some parts that I don't want to spoil that are honestly intense and scary as fuck. I'll say it get somewhat like a 2D Alien Isolation at some points. It is 100% worth your time and money.

just because the themes fusion have elements of horror doesn't mean it's survival horror, because fusion does not have many gameplay elements similar to survival horror games. most of it is the standard 2d metroid elements that were present in super metroid with more linearity to the environments

It's a good game, but it does not hold the same Metroid priorities of exploration.
It's harder than most and it really feels like the game was developed around the bosses being really hard challenges

Fair enough, but the X being an aid and a hazard gave me survival horror vibes. Not to mention the jump scares, the linear design, the "lab got fucked up, run" ethos, and the atmosphere.

Maybe Survival Horror is a stretch, but it's clearly not Super Metroid. I would love a 3D game in Fusion style. It's a good sequel.

Wrong. Both games hold your hand, but Zero Mission doesn't have the excuse of a good story and its level design is more restrctive because it's following the first one's layout. Also Chozodia is really poorly slapped onto the end and feels like an afterthought.

ZM is easy absolutely, the stealth section is repetitive past the first playthrough yeah, but the cutscenes are fine and every statue after the first is skippable.

If people were imagining an long boring badly designed stealth section with a bunch of dumb story cutscenes tacked on about Samus whiny childhood then it'd immediately be laughed away because how could anyone ever add something so stupid to a remake.
