Had some great games that it managed to build its own unique identity with, but the two screen gimmick was still shit. The best thing I can say about it is it ruined very few games, but it never improved a single game and was a minor annoyance for several.

With that said I got my monies worth. A lot of great exclusives on the wii u. 3D World was great, no matter what the shitposters said.

I'm much more optimistic on the switch. Seems to be building the same quality of exclusives as the Wii U but with a form factor I actually like.

What a bad opinion.
It may have been used to bad effects on occasion. But even just a baseline effort of having the map/inventory available on the gamepad was an improvement in every case, the Zelda remakes on WiiU and 3DS and ALBW were much better for being able to navigate the items and other shit without pausing. But it genuinely enhanced Pikmin 3, Super Mario Maker, Splatoon, Sonic Racing Transformed (5th local player on the gamepad), and those are just off the top of my head.
Not to mention off TV play was awesome.

I also love 3D World but fuck those levels where you need to tap platforms with the gamepad to make them raise up. That was honestly my least favorite use of the gamepad on the entire console because it just come out of fucking nowhere in an otherwise completely normally controlled game.

I'll give you Mario Maker, that is the only time the second screen was useful. As for the map and inventory shit, I don't agree for a second that looking down to a totally different screen is in any way better than just pressing a button and it coming up on the same screen. I always hear people say this but it rings false to me. Please try to explain how that interrupts your game any less. If anything it is equally time consuming as well as more immersion breaking, since you are forced to look away from the game. I also skipped Pikmin 3, so I can't comment on that one, you could be right about it.

Keep in mind, I'm no shitposter, I'm an idort and I like my Wii U a lot, I just like it in spite of the gimmick.

A few quick questions on the game
>Why did they waste good combat on idolshit? I wouldn't mind a music/dance themed RPG but this game really feels like it wants to be Persona instead of its own thing so far

Itsuki has to be at least decent at everything since he's mandatory in every fight, and he gets a pretty diverse arsenal along with skills to augment however you choose to develop him. With TMS being one of the few Megaten titles where elemental-physical attacks are a thing, a physical-focused build is viable, along with the usual array of Lord skills like Aether.

Tsubasa reflects the Pegasus line with some added on qualities to reflect SMT combat like an early focus on offensive magic(ironically the wind/Zan line of skills) and some support skills, but where her growths would be pretty alright as a pegasus knight in a conventional FE title, in SMT they leave something to be desired since you cannot dodge as reliably without investing in buffs and debuffs.

Nintendo owns the game because it's a FE game after all, but Atlus owns the characters since it was created by them,Technically avex but whatever, and Avex owns the songs plus everything related to it.

In any case it's more dependent of Nintendo because they are butt buddies with both.

Problem with Tsubasa as healer is that you don't really want to heal in combat if you can avoid it. 90% of your damage is in session chains so wasting a heal vs killing 1-2 mobs is never really worth it.

Not to mention the game throws money and items at you if you take the time to grind out carnage creation and weapon skills, and it's not that huge of a grind either.

I think the best use of her was the Dual Arts since pratically every art that has her in it has a heal.

She'd be more useful if her sessions added a small heal to someone on stage each time it was her turn.
