The first time I summoned the Shambler, I didn't know what I was doing. Now, I do it for the challenge. I've lost entire parties to it, but I almost can't walk by the alter without throwing a torch in there. It's like a drug, man.

Just started Crimson Court today after only getting a little bit on pre-DLC a while back and dropping the game. How the fuck do you deal with the vampirism? It hit three of my four people really quickly and the three hive things I was looking for were nowhere to be found. I simply couldn't find the third after exhausting all pathways but one, in which Crocodilicus showed up and assfucked my exhausted party. Abomination just shits out so much damage if you can keep him alive it's ridiculous, getting 70 damage hitting crits was becoming common place, and with the jester around I never had to waste a week solely for sanity upkeep.

Also the lvl 1 suicide runs help bring in a decent amount of money, you send them in with literally nothing.

Not at first, but with MaAs in the party to block and abomination to soak up damage since he kinda acts as a "sponge" tank. Ocults damage debuff was also a life saver. Basically the entire comp is set up to be very "safe" (ironically using occultist as a healer, his items can out do his RPG for the most part)

So even on turns where they get a crti or two in a row, you can just tank the damage till you're all better, jester can also jump up to the front of it all to act as a temporary shield.

As for heirloom management, I just threw everything into guild after cart as quickly as possible, and completely ignored everything else but the blacksmith.

A lot of teams work and early game is all about learning what each hero does as you can't really choose who you get but generally for a newer player I'd suggest bringing either a Hound Master or Jester to help with stress relief until you get a feel for most of the classes and you can start building teams from there. Team building and discovering not obvious synergies is part of the game's fun

I had corpses turned off because I didn't like the way they worked out when they came into the game, but then I tried a new save with all the options on.

Corpses are a lot of fun and are actually really helpful sometimes. Very few negatives in my eyes.

Technically, you can do all of that. The game's scripts can be edited on notepad, but the modding community for this game isn't that dedicated outside of a handful of Koreans.

Hopefully, if Red Hook makes another DLC, they include an official dungeon editor that lets players design their own dungeons. That will no fuck doubt extend the game's lifespan.

I think the biggest weakpoint of the game is repetition. The grind. For every really interesting fight, that challenges you, there will be one that is just efficiently defeating some trash enemies.

The fantastic style and atmosphere can compensate for this a bit.

If you can stomach the grind, you will probably like it.

I can finally visit Baron for a night full of fun and games.
I have plenty Resolve level 3 characters (an Arbalest vampire among them) and Dismas at Resolve level 4
I have also plenty Resolve level 2 characters (three more vampires there: Occultist, Bounty Hunter, Antiquarian).
I am thinking of picking Dismas, Reynauld, Vampire Arbalest and a Vestal
What am I in for? DD wiki has no Baron stats yet.

Marched in there, level 1, completely fresh party that I threw together with my limited as fuck supply of recruits, no idea what to expect other than there being some crocodile in there (I certainly didn't expect that fucking cunt to have over 100 health for a boss this early, what the fuck man) and I tore the area a new asshole.
