While i firmly believe Koizumi is a great director i don't think you can really call him an Auteur.

I don't think you can really say "this is a Koizumi game" like you can say for Suda51 whose style is so distinct the people working under him try to mimic

Literally created one of the greatest action games of all time in DMC3, arguably improving on the foundation that Hideki Kamiya established with DMC1. 4 has some of the best combat in any game ever made. On top of that, there's Dragon's Dogma, maybe one of the best WRPGs ever, with some of the best combat in that genre as well.

On top of that, he had a hand in games like Street Fighter Alpha, and Rival Schools, even co-directing Power Stone.

When he makes a game a year, yes it is.

Showing your strength as a director is showing you can excel at different things.

Mikami has shown he can direct a great horror game, a great shooting game, and a great beatemup. He's also shown himself as a fantastic producer.

Miyazaki two medicore Armored Core games, and directed Souls 1-4.

I'm incredibly impressed with Miyazaki. He is extremely efficient and good at managing a team. The fact that he can produce quality games like BB and DaS III in the short time he did, while still overseeing the shit going on with DaS II, speaks volumes. And don't forget the DLC in between for BB. Obviously he doesn't always strike gold, but he never strikes anything less than silver, which is pretty good.

He didn't actually direct Dark Souls 2, he just supervised. Which gives him 5(plus the time from DaS1 finishing development to going gold) years to work on Bloodbourne and Dark Souls 3, that isn't a game a year at all.

ZUN's games have much less variation between them than Dark Souls and Bloodbourne do yet he's in god tier. Besides, that isn't remotely true. You don't expect romantic comedy movies from John Carpenter and you don't expect hamburgers from a 5 star pizzeria, this doesn't mean they're bad, or even average, at their jobs just because they have a niche.
