It's obvious this game is just setting up for a sequel. Lucas disappears and is the only loose end left and they'll make him redneck Wesker in the future. The end choice with Mia and Zoe is really stupid because there's only one right option.

It's literally a LP-bait for Twitch watchers. One of those "kino" games with very little actual gameplay. Shit puzzles, shit "bosses", no replay value, tons of DLC ... etc.
Yet GenZ kids think that "it's toootally the same as RE1 m8! :^)"

The game is too focused on scripted sequences. There's too many parts where you move forward slowly while something happens, or you're talking to Mia.

They're basically unskippable cutscenes where you hold forward.

You can't just jump into the core gameplay like in every other RE. It makes repeat playthroughs a complete pain in the ass.

When you skip the cutscenes in RE4, you're in the game with the main gameplay.

If you could skip cutscenes in RE7, you have to wander around the house and deal with a bunch of scripted shit for like 15 minutes before you get to the core gameplay of the game.

Those only take up a few minutes of game time total.

When you start up RE7, it takes way longer to get to the part where you're actually playing the game and can be attacked by enemies, and absolutely none of it is skippable.

Evil Within does a similar thing with scripted shit where you walk around and maybe talk to someone with absolutely no gameplay. Essentially a cutscene. Like RE7, it a;so has an opening where you spend like 20 minutes going through the scripted motions until you get to actually play the game.

I think it had atmsophere and mood, and was a fun game. The map design and gun handling were all well done and very fun in my opinion.

I agree that the opening guest house area is way too scripted and is a bit of a drag to replay. I keep on hoping they'll fix that in a future update, but that is a fool's dream.

I have 37 bullets, and there are around 10+ monsters in the tunnels. I have tried to clear the area 5 times now, but always run out of ammo and die.

I assume you mean the house basement. That's the first real tough area in the game, especially if you weren't careful with ammo before.

It takes 4 headshots to kill a monster, say I use 5 bullets per monster. That's at least 50 bullets, because there are around 10 there, but I only have 37. You can't fight them in melee because they kill you in 2 hits.

I tried to backtrack and get ammo, but there wasn't any.
