>VR is literally perfect for a lightgun games revival
>Barely any of those
Where's my House of the Dead VR?
I've been saying this for a while, but nobody wants Time Crisis I guess.
Can you make it cinematic? No? It won't sell.
>>381610068
>Can you make it cinematic
Movement is mostly on rails.
>>381610068
>VR is literally perfect for a lightgun games revival
>Barely any of those
Are you high?
There's literally three VR genres: cockpit simulator, job simulator and shoot guns simulator.
Lightgun games is an entire third of VR.
>>381610068
>cant track
too expensive to actually implement
>>381610814
you don't need to do it like the arcades
im sure you can fake it easily
>>381610706
You still have to aim, too much agency.
>>381610898
youd get nausea from them tho
>vr's greatest weakness
>>381610795
I think he means on rail shooters
>>381611035
Its funny, I'm always thinking THEY COULD DO THIS but yeah, always the same problem, motion sickness.
>>381610068
You seen sick when you move.
You have to telport instead.
And we have 70,000,000 FPS in VR that do that.
>>381610068
But anon, you can play LightGun games in VR already.
>>381611445
Onward has you walk around like a normal vidya and Rush of Blood has you literally on rails
Only dorks and scrubs get sick
>tfw newrist arcade is in Austin which is like 8 hours away
I wish they had once in Dallas
>>381611803
can you run on it? speed has something to do with it also perspective disorientation
>>381612191
>arcades
>in America
>where population density is laughable and public transit is satanism
If we can look everywhere, that means devs will place enemies everywhere. And in order to compensate with being hit a billion times by offscreen foes (it WILL happen), they'll give you a life bar instead of lives, which is a golden ticket for devs to make shitty enemy and boss design, justifying it with "You only take a little damage, its ok!"
I'm not saying it's never been done well, but I can count the ones that do on one hand
>>381612191
>8 hours
Nah dawg, try 3-4, and there have got to be some arcades in Dallas. That said, Austin has some awesome arcades. UFO for weeb and fighters, pinballs for everything else, and lots of barcades if you're a faggot.
>>381612365
>You can't move, you'll get sick!
>o-okay you can move, but running will surely make you sick!
Nope, Onward lets you run and sprint
What will be your next goalpost, I wonder?
Why do people dislike railshooters anon?
>>381612882
youre the only one getting confrontational, something russled your small ego? poor babyboy
see i can do it too
>>381610068
If movement is too fast, it causes the user to throw up unless they're one of the 33% of people with no motion sickness reflex.
That number of people tolerant to it only goes down as speed of the game increases
>>381613105
Stating falsehoods as facts is itself a form of confrontation, numbnuts.
You've been doing it all along.
>>381613212
your small brain just assumed someone was spouting bullshit retard, also learn what the inner ear does
>>381610068
buy pic related and hope SEGA gets the hint
>>381610068
It would also be perfect for Black and White or Dungeon Keeper style god simulators.
>>381613396
>You seen sick when you move.
>You have to telport instead.
Literally spouting bullshit from your own ass.
>>381614143
kek, u mad? because I can tell you arenot that guy
>>381613212
>Stating falsehoods as facts is itself a form of confrontation, numbnuts.
Not him, but you're the kind of person who ruined /v/.
You didn't even attempt to correct him, you jumped in with the equivalent of "NUH UH FAG".
https://www.sciencenews.org/article/virtual-reality-has-motion-sickness-problem
People like you really piss me off. People who just decide to randomly turn threads into shitflinging fests because you personally take validation off feeling right from 4chan threads.
VR is a meme but I'm a hardware release insider and there will be cheap ones coming this year and next year so will probably snag those if they are cheap and good enough however I am waiting for a really realistic vehicle simulator specifically a tank simulator. Where's my tank crew simulator?
>>381614962
>You didn't even attempt to correct him
He stated zero games let you move and shoot, because moving automagically 100% certainly makes you sick and no game would risk letting you do that.
I proved him wrong with two games that did exactly what he said was impossible.
You linked some clickbait bullshit I'm not even going to open.
Get fucked, redditor.
>>381614965
Closest you can get currently. Only WW2 to early cold war tanks though.
I want Umbrella Chronicles VR
>>381610068
Nobody likes lightgun games. The Wii had the best ones ever made and nobody gave a shit.
>>381610068
I dunno man, I'm one of those kids that grew up in arcades, and games like this were just so-so popular. What you are suggesting would be expensive as shit, with high maintenance cost, and would not be cheap to play. Seems like an investment that might not yield enough return to make it worth it.
The idea sounds like it could be fun, but that shit is gonna be stupid fuckin' expensive.
>>381610068
>work in arcade
>area 51 going on the fritz
>boss eventually decides to sell cabinet
>one night after closing helping boss pull it out of it's spot
>see back of cabinet
>find out cabinet was originally killer instinct
I got really depressed
>>381614965
What I want is a VR Steel Batallion.
>Pilot a giant mech
>Use remotes to interact with all the controls inside
>Choose to be a driver, loader, gunner or commander
>4 ways of playing
>Really immersive because of VR
>Steel Batallion
>>381617641
so basicly take the kinect title and fix the controls?
>>381617969
Yup, make it VR, longer and not shit
>>381612454
The largest arcade in the world is in America.
I'll wait until the next revision. Never buy the first model of anything.
I think you mean rail shooter, OP.
Light Gun shooter in VR either wouldn't work or would be really fucking annoying
>>381611035
>Tfw don't get VR sickness
Step it up scrubs
