If you mean kickstarter games by old devs, the first one I noticed was Mighty No. 9, but that one was riding on the Legends 3 cancellation and the shitshow Capcom was in general at the time. But devs were already picking up old games and modernizing them for no reason since 6th gen or so. Final Fight, Golden Axe, Bionic Commando, Thief, Syndicate.

Generations was fine, what are you smoking. Sonic gets shitty whenever the devs try to get creative. And it's not really a reboot either.
