Crash was a weird entity in the realm of 3D platformers because it largely adheres to 2D platformer tradition, especially the first game. They're less exploratory endeavors like you'd expect from Super Mario 64, Spyro, the N64 Rare games, that kind of platformer and more like the obstacle course design of old but with progression happening on a forward/backward plane. You played 3 which is actually a hair more winding in design than 1 or 2 are but it's in a similar vein. If you liked Warped, you HAVE to play 2 as it's widely considered to be the best and I say that as a Warpedfag. 1 is worth revisiting as it moreso than its sequels is a throwback to the days of actually challenging platforming, though with the design refinements of 2/3 added on to it it won't be as ludicrously hard as it once was.

I liked knack, for all of the horrendous, horrendous problems it had. I got to try it hands on at the E3 booth and (on pro at least) it ran dandy, and the platforming stuff was great, gave a nice break from the generic as fuck brawler combat which largely seems unchanged besides shapeshifting on the fly.
