Yeah they must have changed their stance seeing the crossplay with Nintendo now but MS knows they aren't in a position to refuse things consumers want like they could last gen. Regardless Sony has a lot of control over the game coming on other platforms because SE will never fuck over their PS4 userbase. The playerbase is split pretty evenly across PC/PS4 and Japan in particular the vast majority of players are on PS4.

What I find weird about the whole situation is that they had no issues allowing crossplay with the PS2 for Final Fantasy XI which was on PC/PS2/360 but that could have something to do with it only being available on a last gen console and not PS3.

FFXIV is really good for a theme park MMO. It's focused really heavily on the story like a mainline FF game though and there's about 100 hours of main story quests before you even hit Stormblood if you don't rush through them. The end game boss presentation is the best out of any MMO they all feel really cool and have shit like dynamic music that changes when bosses change phases. Like that other guy said there's a free trial until level 35 so you can always try it out and see if you like it. The beginning of the game is slow as fuck and will probably make you quit the game though if you don't somewhat enjoy the story

What they use their resource meter for is irrelevant. What matters is damage output and utility, which new PLD has a lot of both as MT and OT. If anything the fact that their damage is independent from their job gauge gives them an advantage over other tanks since they're not as penalized for stance swapping.

PLD is the weakest tank in tank stance. Intervention and Sheltron are good but incredibly excessive now that every dps has their own sort of mitigation. Tanks should be swapping constantly and this is made even easier with Shirk, that both WAR/DRK will be rotating cds correctly anyways. PLD won't get the chance to pop all its cds in the ~2 minutes between tanks swapping.

WAR/DRK already do more dps on paper as shown by their SSS dummies not to mention all their damage is physical and affected by slashing. Not to mention, that tank damage in this tier will be largely affected by how many STR accessories a tank can pack on. A STR DRK/WAR is already pushing 3k, with WAR's holmgang and relatively short cds being especially suited to STR play.

On the contrary, rdm can handle 9 raises without any bother to their mp. It literally lasts that long despite only having lucid as its mp gain because everything it has, aoe included, is ridiculously cheap. Apart from the GCDs spent raising and the natural consequence of slowing down the burst phases, raising 9 times will not affect the rdm. The 10th will murder them though.
Although, depends how far apart these raises are, I suppose. Either way, it doesn't hit their dps like it would a smn, and it's definitely better for rdm to do the first five or so raises before a healer unless a whm has BOTH thin air AND swiftcast at the ready for the raise.
