Apparently there was a special edition released only in certain Nipponland stores that came with the gun, too. https://myfigurecollection.net/item/429745

It comes fully assembled, save for the arm. I never assembled the arm. The entire figure is a hollow and somewhat soft plastic, not hard like ABS or PVC, and is somewhat like some dog chew toys. I never managed to get the saber on him. I read you'd need a heatgun or hair dryer to make the wrist socket more malleable to plop the hand in there.

But the thought of doing that makes me sweat bullets.

Charged my camera just enough for the big shot of the main 4 bookcases. I got other stuff still in boxes that aren't displayed (~15 JoJo SAS figures, and many other misc figures sitting on a second set of 2 bookcases).

If you want a Zero pic, you'll have to wait a bit, I'm trying to get my camera's battery pack charged up a bit more, but the charging process is slow as fuck.

There's a removable cardboard insert in the glass doors that has a white laminated side and a black laminated side. I removed them to have clear displays, obviously.

I will note though, out of the box, they simply don't look this good. The doors Ikea provides will always leave an air gap, and I painstakingly measured and sourced 3M weatherproof foam tape to line the bookcase and the doors to make a dust-resistant seal. None of my figures inside the glass case ever see a spec of dust due to this.

Yeah, I know. I got quite a few model kits I've never assembled, mostly cars. I want to make the model kits, but I don't want to half ass and just assemble them and put on stickers. I want to go all the way with the painting and such, but honestly haven't had enough time.

I did buy an airbrush recently to try my hand at casemodding first. The enamel clearcoat I got from Testor's Model Master Series apparently yellows on white paint over time, so I had to use rattle-can clear coat and got way more orange peel than i'd like. I'm going to go through the process on smoothing it out with 3M rubbing compound and such kinda soon here.

Personal taste, and personal safety, there is no real recommendation outside of knowing what you buy. Its like buying a proper bookshelf, you can get them cheap and the wood bows, or you can get a thick wood one, or you can get one with a door.

Same for display cases, you can get store grade displays, or antique looking ones. Go and look around and decide something that works for you and where you live. Or, you want super secure, build your own with tinted glass and steel. I know a guy who did that for his gundam collection, he put a bowling ball inside to show why he used metal plates for shelving inside.

Gunplas can be viewed as a modern day artform. Normally they're plastic mold injection pieces that you assemble and put decals on, but many people go that extra mile to paint the gundam, too. Then there are those that modify the kit and etch into the model and paint battle damage and such too.

There's plenty of amazing Gunpla youtube videos showing some of the best there is out there. There's also plenty of gunpla stuff on other 4chan boards, too, like /m/.

You're much better off getting a High Grade or HG, or even the SD models are simpler for beginners. There's plenty of guides online to help you get into the hobby and what you need. And don't let the time it takes you to finish a model discourage you either, you can devote as much time as you want

It can get overwhelming but personally, I started with a Master Grade. These have an inner skeleton (showing mechanical details and what not even if it gets covered in the end) and have greater stability, but I do recommend starting with a HG; HG kits do not have an inner skeleton but nowadays they tend to be stable enough.

I actually did start with a HG model couple decades back, but the quality was so shitty back then it just turned me off from gunpla until few years after the MG models were introduced. Like the other anon said check with /m/, they have a gunpla general.

Not that anon, but "Master Grade" refers to Gunpla models which are a higher difficulty than High Grade models which are the standard and generally most basic. They have much more parts, take more time to build, and overall require more work to be as detailed but at the same time, offer more detail, are larger, better articulation, and better color separation on the parts, and decals. You should look up a guide on all the individual grades.

But yeah, I'm mostly a Part 3 fag because of the Dreamcast fighter, which is what first got me into JoJo. I started buying a bunch of them while Part 3 was airing, but quickly realized I had like 3 large boxes full of JoJo figures. I kinda told myself to stop after that, but it's killing me knowing that I missed out on Josuke, Crazy Diamond, Kira, Killer Queen, and many, many other good figures since I stopped putting such a heavy focus on JoJo figs and merchandise.

Even with these, I'd easily fill that 2nd shelf. And when I do assemble that shelf, I'd need to go through the entire process to assemble the papercraft road roller, and then still make enough room around it for JoJos to still be in iconic poses and such.

Look between the metal rimmed door and the black-brown wood of the bookcase.

Without that weatherproof seal, the display case is still OK, but going the extra mile to seal the display case away from dust is the best thing you can get on the market for the price paid. We're talking $180 + $10 in washers and steel screws (to mount the doors to the bookcase, as opposed to the very bad zinc screws Ikea provides) + $25 or so in weatherproof foam tape to line the bookcase and between the doors.

And you can get multiple bookcases in different colors, etc.

Also Ikea also sells extra shelves, too. And you can get glass shelves if you want too. I would've gone for this, but the middle shelf is fixed wood shelf, and you can't remove it without affecting the structural integrity of the shelf since it's locked into both sidepanels of the bookcase.

I actually enjoy having the english+japanese version of Bloodborne. Makes me feel like I'm getting the original real deal with the original language + translation.

Honestly its just as good a build quality as the other two figures which I think are pretty quality. It's pretty well detailed though a colored version would be nice I agree. But it came with the CE which was about the cost of the colored standalone figures. I really like the Reaper statue though, nicest of the trio, and I still have the Widowmaker one on the way.

Yeah, When I got him I thought he looked a bit big, but I guess I would rather have nice figures then fret over a scale difference. I can see how it would bother some. What I wonder about a D.Va figure is if they would just do a pilot only statue or do some weird scale shit to include the Mech. Reinhardt will be interesting as well since even out of his suit he is a giant. It probably just depends if they want the whole line to be that $150 price point, or if they will have some upwards of $300 like their garrosh or illidan statues.

can you read Japanese at a near native level? Do you like the novelty of having the Japanese copies? If no to both of those I would say get the English versions, since if you can't near perfectly understand written Japanese you will probably miss out on the same things that get lost in translation in an English printing.
