It doesn't have better models, but it did have better animations.
The actual models for X/Y and Sun/Moon are actually really, really good. They future-proofed those things when they made 'em. That's why the games run like shit.
It's just that they choose to animate them terribly for some reason.

Man, Pokemon Battle Revolution had GOD TIER music and super fun online wifi matches (spent like 400 hours on there just destroying tryhards with unevolved Pokemon (back before the game's extreme power spike in BW & XY). Too bad about the rest of the game. I wish a perfect mix of Pokemon Stadium and PBR existed.

Well, there is a way to swap pokes. If you beat round 1, gateway colloseum's gimmick becomes trade battle, in which you get to take one of the loser's pokemon. Stealing the right pokemon is the only way to even have a small chance at beating mysterial with rentals.
