My gaming rig motherboard is dead, and now I am stuck with my IntelĀ® HD Graphics 520 integrated graphics playing Nier: Automata at 640 x 400 resolution, all settings low.
How shall I survive /v/?
that's what you get for not maintaining your computer

wow, nier looks no different with all settings on low

This is true for most PC games of the last 5 years or so.
Ultra settings are a meme and a waste of money.

Replace your mobo you incompetent retard.

go buy another one ...
I wonder if mine is dying. I had audio cracking through my GPU's HDMI out of nowhere after years. But then I switched PCI-E ports and it's not doing it any more, so far. It might come back though, and could just be a software thing.

Problem is that so many god damn games today run just as shit no matter the settings, maybe 10 FPS difference if you're lucky. It's usually because of bad CPU optimization. Graphics don't mean shit when there's some AI and other scripting in the background raping your CPU.
Just repair it?

Bad CPU optimization is usually because of poor programming though, it's not because the game itself is intensive. If some RTS is CPU intensive i can understand, but something like Nier Automata or Mortal Kombat X(before QLOC) being CPU intensive is just ridiculous and the result of poor programming. Mortal Kombat X was a disaster in CPU optimization before QLOC ported it properly, now it runs smooth as butter even on low-end CPUs.
