Play a good 2D metroid first (Super, Zero Mission)

Metroid Prime makes a lot more sense in the context of one of those games being expanded into a 3D format. Prime 1 is probably my favorite game of all time desu.

This was my first Metroid game, and I beat it yesterday. It still holds up remarkably well, and IMO is easily still a 10/10. I did play the Wii version, so IDK about the gamecube's controls. I actually really liked the motion controls tho.

I've been playing video games before you were born. I've played more video games than most people on this board, I've completed one of the most difficult video game challenges on this planet when i was 5 years old (complete Wizardry 4 with no cheats or guides) so that makes what I say hold a lot more weight compared to the rest of the userbase.

I'm replaying it right now, I'm having a lot of fun. I'm just before Ridley. I collected all the artifacts. The backtracking for them was not as tedious as I remember it to be. I already had 6 of them before fighting the Omega Pirate so in less than an hour I had them all after that. But it's probably because I knew where some were (The one from Magmoor, phendrana's tower)...

And I have 90% of the objects right now, I'm happy that I almost got everything blindly without backtracking a lot. That game is probably my favourite Metroid, truly a 10/10 game.

I have never understood this complaint. All the Metroid games are slow paced games where you're meant to meticulously explore your environment. You can't really break the flow of walking around and looking for stuff.

Amazing exploration, feels great.
OST is okay.
Great lore out the ass.
Gameplay can be iffy.
Bosses are cool but a bit too tanky.
Only real complaint is being forced to constantly switch weapons.
