Imagine you buy The Dark Knight on DVD and you really enjoy it. So, when The Dark Knight Returns, you buy that and pop that sucker in your DVD player to watch it, but instead of the movie playing, you get a prompt telling you that The Dark Knight Returns can only be played on this other brand of DVDs. So, your choices now is to either miss out completely on The Dark Knight Returns, which you have been looking forward to forever, or you can dish out an extra $300 just to view this one movie.
How is this not anti-consumer? Forcing us to pay ridiculous amounts of money to play games that could theoretically be played on any system. This is apparently ONLY okay for video games but not any other medium ever.

Exclusives and games that were ported to consoles/PC later are better than on-release multiplats.

It actually helps developers in some cases. Without Nintendo's funding Bayo 2 would've never happened. Sony and Microsoft both fund a lot of their in-house games. If a game interests people enough they will go out and buy the system for that game. You can't deny people on here went out and got a PS4 just to play Bloodborne, or a Wii U and Smash.
