Hexedit enemy stats to your likings, like giving shadowqueen 300+ hp, Equip the "take double damage" badge, increase enemy damage/defense and give them new effects.
Or give yourself new effects, make badges yourself and so on.
Obviously super guards are not allowed. After all you can't die while using superguard anyway, would kinda defeat the purpose.

Or download one of the presets mentioned in above links.
And above all, don't forget that no game is meant to be replayed forever, no matter how good it is or was in your childhood.

And you can always play sticker star or colour splash.After all, those are what paper mario rpgs were always meant to be :^).

You start off 10 in both games and both games require you to chet rippo yourself to get down to 5. Chet rippo is available way earlier in the original game than in TTYD (I think you can get to him as early as chapter 2 in 64, but you need to beat chapter 5 to get to him in TTYD), but PM64 has a really low level cap so you will undoubtedly be forced to give yourself more than 5 HP in that game eventually.

I'm not shitposting. You can superguard most of the Shadow Queen's attacks, or just put on a defense plus/guard or two to prevent that one attack where she pulls you under from damaging you.

And you get 5 HP by talking to Chet Rippo and putting it into another stat. It's how Danger Mario works.

Nintendo has some bizarre idea that a true Paper Mario game will somehow hurt the Mario and Luigi games. Also, IS might still be adhering or overreacting to what Miyamoto supposedly said during the development of Sticker Star.

I prefer the gameplay of PM64/TTYD over M&L since the action commands are more interesting than dodging, also the fact the badges are there, numbers are small for HP, FP & etc. and you still get hurt when blocking (excluding TTYD when you get too good at Super Guarding) adds a bit more strategy in how you play compared to M&L in my opinion. Mario & Luigi is still a great series though & TTYD's dick is sucked a lot.
