I just got done with Susano as SCH and good lord was it difficult. Managing mana is so damn difficult now and we don't have any sustained damage anymore to make up for it. The other healer was a SCH as well, which made it even worse. We both pretty much had to use EoS in order to keep everyone alive and we both went oom pretty often. It's depressing when I think of everything I was capable of before Stormblood.

SCH's identity is part of what contributed to making it overpowered. The fairy AND their ridiculous fuckloads of utility are what made them irreplaceable in every single raid composition for the past two years.

While I feel that SCH probably got nerfed too hard, they fucking SAID it was coming. Months ago Yoshi noted in an interview that he was turning the nerfbat onto both WAR and SCH because of how disgustingly powerful they both were. As far as playstyle, well, not much can be helped in that regard.

All three healers had part of their playstyles absolutely butchered. All this talk about how boring SCH is now is how AST has been all along. I would say SCH's identity is more so centered around their shields and shitload of DoTs. With both nerfed, they have nothing to offer that WHM/AST can't do better. How can you find SB better than HW? It's pretty insufferable being stuck with lyse and alisaie (who could be a decent character if she wasn't overused), watching everyone make stupid decisions and dealing with zenos, compared to fighting dragons and hanging out with estinien, aymeric and alphie. I don't think that 3.1-3 can be viewed that way, 3.0 didn't have a conclusive ending to the story and 3.1-3 were the rest of that story.

Did anyone else care a whole lot more about Othard's storyline than Gyr Abania's? Othard was just so much more interesting, and the characters were too. Lyse was easily the worst part of it, and the fact that she was the main focus of the Ala Mhigo arc made it pretty awful.

Casters are in an alright spot right now because they have addle, apoc, and manashift. All casters seem pretty equal, with SMN maybe being a bit stronger in terms of raid DPS. But BLM is definitely king of AOE right now in the right circumstances. Double foul, thundercloud, and triple flare is ridiculously good.

The main issue with casters is actually SAM. It's way too good, so if you don't need any of the caster cross class support, then there's no point taking one over SAM because SAM is just doing so much more damage than every other class.

But I'm still playing SCH, even though I think it's literally the weakest job in the game right now. It's the only job I have at level 60 and the only one I've truly enjoyed since I started this game 2 years ago. I mained bow on MHFU and and Freedom 2, so being underpowered and "low tier" isn't enough to make me jump ship. That said, I still wouldn't mind some buffs, mainly for SCH's dps (particularly AoE and at least one more DoT) and Aetherflow/Energy Drain.

I'm not asking to be the strongest, because I don't care about stuff like that. I would like to see the job get its synergy back. Right now it feels incredibly clunky and counter-intuitive.

I think people are really overvaluing the dot when compared to having meikyo and guren up quicker. Especially for lakshmi which won't even see the dot getting to the boss until the two adds are dead.
