I bought one on launch and it made me immediately disregard the Switch the moment it was first shown.
I wasn't about to fall for the gimmick tablet scam a second time, fuck Nintendo.

That's objective. I've had ever Nintendo console since the 64, as well as a PS2 and Xbox 360. I liked the Wii U because it did feel like an "evolution" of gaming. Using the tablet as a second screen for items, a map or other mechanics felt like a natural progression of play games, rather than just increasing graphics or 60fps.

Every time I thought about getting an Xbox One or PS4, even at a good price, I'd have to pass on it because there wasn't much I wanted to play; the 1 or 2 games that interested me didn't justify it.

Looking at the Steam wishlists of anons lately, I can see my interests and theirs greatly differ. But it doesn't mean their games are shit, just don't interest me (and even then, that may change someday).

Then again, this is /v/ so I don't know what I expect from a troll thread.

This combined with the fact the Switch left me salty while I waited for more games to come out. I somehow got Pikmin 3 for free (forget how) but I never played it because somehow I fucked up my save for Pikmin 2 on Dolphin and never started over. A bunch of backlog shit piled up and ultimately my best experiences on the console were Mario Kart 8, and 2 pirated Wii games.

Where the hell have you been? We have CFW now, you can install pirated games straight to your system memory or HDD and launch them from the home menu, just like normal games. I had BOTW on my HDD a week before it came out.

Hyrule Warriors isn't even functional practically on a normal 3DS, New is barely better. Yoshi is "technically" playable but you lose all of the charm and artyle.

Games have been able to be installed directly to the wii u or an external HDD since like October. You can play them online and use dlc. It's as if you downloaded the game from the eshop. The games are able to be downloaded straight from Nintendo servers and from there you install them.

Don't buy one hacked. Just find a used one on eBay and do it yourself. I sell em for 400 bucks a pop(because I had so many dam wii Us on me, don't ask why). Get one for like 150 and from there all you need is a big enough SD card and an external HDD. It's so easy to do, takes me only 5 minutes and I'm ready to install games.

you can. Its hackable on the latest firmware. And it has access to all of the Wii homebrew through the Wii mode, so you can play gamecube games natively
And as others have said you can pirate DLC and play online with pirated games

You download them through a client on your computer (Wii U USB helper) then copy them to an SD card, then you use a homebrew app called WUPinstaller to install them to your system
You can also do other fun stuff like using the GC adapter for any game (not just Smash) and using other USB controllers

Only changes I would make are that you can just go to the website: loadiine.ovh

Also to install games, you need to "turn on" the custom firmware first by clicking the fw.img homebrew app.

Lastly, when installing games make sure the folder name doesn't have special characters or else it won't install. The e in Pokémon or any of the following ©®™.

If you want to play out of region games, just Google "iosu hax download" to get the latest fw.img. The one from the video is dated but it'll still work for game from your region.
Screenshot this and follow that video, things will be much clearer after. Should only take you guys 30 minutes to understand and do it. If it takes longer, you're a disgrace to your families.

Also the Switch has 3 WiiU ports announced. 4 if you count the Lego game that went multiplat to everything. Gamecube had a ton a games go multiplat, Viewtiful Joe and Killer 7 among them I believe.
So we have one simultaneous release in both cases. Resi brings it up to 2/3. Pikmin 1+2 brings it over. There's a couple of Mario Sports games too. The Wii got a ton of the gamecubes library over it's lifetime.

I only just started playing Child of Light of recently but its kind of like a platformer with some JRPG elements. Kind of like Super Paper Mario I guess but with more emphasis on the RPG part?
I mostly like ZombiU because of the tension, you can't actually pause the game, when you look through your inventory on the pad your character will still be vulnerable on the TV so you have to watch for zombies
And you start as a new character each time you die, if you die you have to go find your old zombified character to get your items back, and if you die on the way you lose them forever
There's also survival mode where the entire game ends if you die once

Trine 2 a great one (touchscreen for the mage and archer on gamepad), Shovel Knight obviously, Shantae, Mighty Switch Force, the list goes on thought, Severed is a game I want to try, it's an action game with touch controls and I think WiiU is the only stylus touchscreen console it's on (vita and smartphones)

Literally all I needed to justify my purchase. I played the fuck out of those games and picked up BotW, Xenoblade X, and Black Fag for $40 after trading in some N64 games I never play. I've definitely gotten my money's worth playing them all. Might even get Pikmin 3 in the future.

I played the games that Switch and 3ds users want to play 3 years ago. I sold my hacked 2ii u for 2x what I paid for it.

Mario Odyssey is the only game I want to play on Switch that I havent already finished.

It was cool for hd zelda, and now thats emulatable, so Nintendo doesnt have my $300 until Mario maybe comes out, and even then I can probably wait.

I never thought it was a scam. I had fun playing it. I don't understand why everyone thinks it has no games either, there are STILL Wii U games I haven't played. I have hundreds of hours in Hyrule Warriors and still haven't finished it, need to get around to finishing Xenoblade X, and have hundreds of hours in Splatoon and Smash as well.

Each adventure map has different missions and challenges.

Feels kind of shitty. I haven't even finished all the Wii U games I have, and I only have like.. 6. The Switch meanwhile, doesn't have enough new games to make me feel like its worth the value yet. Shit, even after Christmas there's only like.. 3 games that catch my interest which are Mario Odyssey, Sonic Mania and Blaster Master Zero.

Call me back when it gets an XL model, a new Mario Kart, a new Smash, and a new Donkey Kong Country game.
