I'm assuming you're in the beginning area then where you start off with the slavic supersoaker. The thing is trash and magically redirects itself to avoid enemies. Past the first area you get better guns that are much more accurate and deadly.

You CAN fully play STALKER stealthly. I do it all the time. Being sneaky in teh Zone just means sniping one or two enemies out before they realize you're there, then disappearing quietly from the scene so you are not spotted and flanked.

Yeah, means nothing. For starters, RO2 has barely room for the bullet physics to shine.
Second, STALKER is not simulator-tier realistic, as it exaggerates the physics and ballistics for the sake of balance AND RPG-like progression.

You can easily 1-shot foes even with the starting pistol, but ONLY within its maximum effective range, if you take in account the very short reach of the 9x18 bullets / 00 buckshot.

I play RO2 as well man. But >>381511353 is right with his image. You are just in the hobo stage. In the hobo stage you are underpowered as fuck and are basically rape bait. I assume you are still in Cordon. Don't worry in the next area you should be able to find an AK74u or maybe a better Shotgun. Once you get on a bit, maybe 10 hours into the game you should finnally have some good armor and decent guns once you get to the main trade outpost of the game.

The gunplay really feels different between each stage of Stalker. By the time you are at God of the Zone stage you can basically one shot people from across the map often times. Your guns feel powerul and accurate as fuck. Stalker has a really great sense or progresion.

I am betting you got your asses handed to you by the car park bandits, and later on the military raid on the newfag camp right? If you return there late game you can just clean sweep those areas easy peasy. The gun mechanics in Stalker are great, you just need to get used to them mate.

STALKER games are brilliant, and very unique. On the surface, they may seem like many other, modern FPS / sandbox games you may be familiar with, but the similarities tend to be purely superficial and deceiving.

They're scarier than many "true" horror games released in past few years.
They look prettier than some much later released multiplat titles.
They make games like Far Cry 3-4 feel like horribly dumbed down, handholding kiddie games.
They are fairly realistic, but not simulator-level. There's real bullet physics and stuff like bleeding and hunger, and one shot to the head can kill anyone.
They are VERY long lasting games. One playthrough in vanilla can last well over 25 hours at calm pace, but I've spent a good two WEEKS in all three of them on my first playthroughs. And later a lot more with numerous mods.

They're not perfect games and have their few issues, but in the end they are like "rough diamonds": totally worth investing time and effort in. They are just not afraid to kick you in the groin and call you a bitch - which is quite rare in modern games.

You can always try out Lost Alpha first, its basicly SoC+ with many things added that didn't make it into the original release.

Don't know about CS. CoP is great, nice story, general good game. And you can go with Call of Chernobyl Mod afterwards, merging all 3 games togehter and giving you completly freedom to roam and loot the zone.

I've played through Shadow of Chernobyl, I got up to the bar and fucked around in the surrounding areas, I thought it had pretty good atmosphere but I think either the gunplay sucks or I suck.
I was playing on master difficulty, and whenever I would shoot over long distances it would feel like I never hit, nothing seemed to affect the accuracy of any gun, and I killed every enemy by ambushing them or luring them past a corner and unloading on them.
How do I prevent this? Is there a way to increase my accuracy? I really enjoyed the rest of the game but the shooting mechanics kinda ruin it.
