Detroit might be his least interesting game ever. At least Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls had semi-interesting premises and Beyond was very emotional so I can understand the appeal, but from what I've seen so far Detroit has neither an interesting premise nor an emotional storyline.

As games he can call them "innovative cinematic experiences" and also a lot of the most interesting things about his games couldn't be done as a movie. A lot of Heavy Rain's best moments revolved around you having some agency in the plot.
