Valdis story is roughly double the length of Transistor, but I prefer Transistor's gameplay, aesthetic and music more. Transistor also has mutators and stuff if you like replayability. Age of Empires II Rise of Rajas dlc - 3.59€ because I already own all the other Age of Empires and dlc from the legacy bundle.

Alternatively, the Microsoft RTS bundle for 19.76€, so basically Rise of Nations - 5€, AoM dlc - 2.50€, Halo Wars - 15€, AoE dlc - 5€. I have the rest like AoM base game or AoE III.

I have X-COM 2. It's all right. Storytelling sucks but if you're in it for the turn-based tactics...It's OK. About as good as other X-COM games. None of these turn-based games are that good, honestly. Only one I've really loved is whatever Tactics Ogre game is on the PS1 and Valkyria Chronicles but, I mostly just liked Valkyria Chronicles chilled-out anime vibe.

Mechanically they're not terrible, the roll system is pretty shitty but it's interesting enough, I guess. But there are some design issues with the X-COM games. Lots of mission types use a mechanic where they "reveal" enemies on the sixth or eighth turn. It's a real fucking pain in the ass because these reveals will completely fuck you. They're dangerous and they expect you to plan for them. So, you either youtube the mission before you start, so that you know you'll be flanked on a certain side on turn X or when you move far enough up the board, or you have to play fast and loose just to see the whole mission before you restart with the knowledge that on turn six you want your guys behind cover or on overwatch. It's just lame. But if you can tolerate that kind of thing, X-COM 2 is a great buy and I'm hardly disappointed that I own it.

The open world/base building aspect are the main differences. You're infiltrating small to big areas with a lot of leeway in TPP, choosing the side missions based on what weapons you want to develop and what soldiers you want in your base.

In GZ you could only really infiltrate from one direction, with one goal, and there's little to make you care if you haven't played the previous games. I'd say TPP is substantially different enough to warrant a purchase. The opening mission is a really explosive ride too.
