FOV in the editor is usually different than the regular game camera, so facial proportions don't look the same after leaving the editor.

Making good faces in overly complex character creators is more trouble than it's worth. I wish more games had character creators like Dragon's Dogma, where it's just a shit ton of presets that you can tweak slightly.

I'm probably biased, I never spent a long time in DaS2 creator while I played DaS1 a lot. I mean, none of the series' creators are great. Whatever you practice the most with I'd say.

Lightning made to compliment characters models =/= Lightning made to compliment environment

Character creation really is one of the only time were you'll be looking close and straight at your character face. There rest of the game will be about the environments.
