Morgana is easily more useful than Ryuji (although charge is very good). People just like to shit on him because he's the one who tells you to go to sleep instead of just getting a "you're too tired" prompt like the previous games. That or his crush on Ann, which didn't bother me since I didn't really like Ann anyway.

Being forced to go to sleep in P4 made sense since you had to watch the Midnight Channel but in P5 this shit is just stupid.

Morgana might learn more healing spells and more powerful healing spells than Makoto but he should never be considered as the main healer of the party over Makoto.

Morgana is perfect as a Heal Battery after combat. Makoto is far better as the combat healer as she has the best stats next to Joker, the best end-game weapons, Nuke-Element attacks which are useful as fuck as it seems to be the most common weakness and is only weak to Psi which is one of the most rarely used enemy elements.

Mokoto is outclassed by Morgana in mob fights because of lucky punch so she's more dependant on sp and in boss fights both of them are outclassed by medicine until late game and then they're outclassed by church items and bead chains. Healers are shit in this game triple dos with Joker on emergency heals is the way to go.

Morgana can barely use salvation with his shit mana pool which you're gonna be using up for his garu spells, and enemies can sneeze on the little shit and do massive damage. Meanwhile, Makoto has a godlike manapool, can tank and dish out damage, and almost nobody resists nuke. Just get the MC a persona with status heal moves and you're golden.

Joker, Makoto, Ryuji and Ann is objectively the best team I'll fucking fight you faggots if you say otherwise.

I used both so I wouldn't know what it's like with makoto being the sole healer, but I did find that makoto's high AGI would sometimes work against her as a healer since going first so often means that her heals won't top off your other party members that decide to use phys or gun skills. Miracle punch is also ridiculous on normal fights though since it doesn't cost mana/bullets and makes getting all outs much easier when joker's already used his switch.

The only time you're going to be using salvation over mediarahan is if you're status inflicted too and in that case it's way better than anything Makoto has. You can even skip salvation all together if you're using Haru since not only does she get the best status cleanse in the game in amrita shower but she's also resistant to status effects herself which makes her doubly good at clearing them.

Morgana, because they tried too hard to make it a mascot. There was no need for Morgana to be in every damn decision Protag does, even to call someone, or just to hang out with someone(YOU WANT TO CALL SOMEONE?YES? OOOH, IT IS GOOD TO HANG OUT, ARE YOU ARE? YEAH LET'S HANG OUT!"). It was unnecessary and the previous 2 protags didn't need such thing.
It completely pissed me off how in a later palace, after 3 boss fights I just wanted to save the game but the cat "NO. WE HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO".

As a character he isn't annoying, except for september plot. I barely used him as a teammate because his defense was pretty shit, Yusuke, Ryuji, Makoto and Ann were all better.

Crew was weird. Ryuji was dumb and wanted to get renowed in the real world due to Phantom Thieves but at least he was loyal. Ann was dumb dumb with fantasies about being a hero, doesn't add anything to the story after Fraudrame aside from some cutscenes because body. Yusuke was most of the time on point despite living in his world, same has Futaba. Haru is just there, doesn't add anything. Cat is the cat, could have been much better character but made him annoying as hell. Justice guy just went insane with obvious plot.
Then there is Makoto, that they clearly wanted to be the star of the show but handled in a poor forced way with shit like the cat calling her "YES QUEEN" and every other male obeying like dogs in the metaverse. Later in Shido's palace protag have an idea, but for some stupid reason Ann says "YES PROTAG, GOOD JOB, AND YOU TOO MAKOTO". If they wanted to forced at least her confidant should have been about herself rather than some random girl she met a few days before
