Get Doom and buy Wolfenstein in August during Quakecon, it's guaranteed to be on sale again then.

Both are fucking terrible
wolfenstein is a clunky by the numbers modern shooter but it's put together pretty well.
Doom is a fucking mess of game design and balancing with parts of it almost falling apart at the seams but it is not another typical modern shooter.
neither are worth time or money and there are a hundred other better games you could and should be playing instead

It depends on what you're looking for. They're both great but one has more emphasis on story/setting and the other focuses only on shooting things up.

I'd say Doom is more replayable and the better value, but imo they're the only good shooters to come out of this generation so it's a hard choice

Do you like hitscan bullet sponges constant set piece interruptions that don't really add to the experience? Pick Wolfenstein.

Do you like projectile combat that at least has enough variety between enemy types to force you to move around constantly, thinking about how to engage, and more evenly paced peaks and valleys of action? Pick Doom. Because it's better. Anyone who tells you Wolfenstein feels like a classic shooter is completely full of shit, the only thing it has in common with those is health and armor packs. Doom isn't exactly classic either, but it's much closer to it than Wolfenstein.

If you want variety get wolfenstein as it has fast action and good stealth. If you just want to rip and tear then doom. Both are fantastic. I'd probably say wolfenstein is the better overall game but I have more time logged in Doom.

Wolf TNO has some of the tightest mechanics I've seen in an FPS. Everything feels so smooth and natural. Garbage engine though.

Doom is more basic in concept but also very fun. If you like arena shooters, get it.

wolfenstein I hate to say it, was too long. at least the cutscenes really dragged out the game the gameplay was a good amount but getting to the gameplay really wore on me.

I prefer Doom. No half-baked stealth nonsense, gameplay and gun play better, grafix better.
TNO has a nice story and is a fun game but it's not as good.

I think Doom is the better game, but if you're interested in The New Colossus, I'd recommend getting TNO so you can get an idea of how that game will play. If you don't give a fuck about TNC, Doom all the way.

DOOM by a mile

TNO is cool but it's not very good at shooting mechanics. It's fun for a run

DOOM on the other hand is incredibly fun after several runs and still kicks ass

TNO was dragged down by WAY too many cutscenes and that fucking terrible hub-world thing going on. The gameplay itself is fine.

DOOM is just way more consistently good and cuts out all the filler that TNO has.

The Old Blood fixes almost all of this, though, and is a bit cheaper.

Wolfenstein is good. Doom made me realize that I never actually stopped liking fps games, just that I played too many shitty ones over the years

I got TNO a week ago when it went down to ten bucks. It's pretty fun but there are so many fucking cutscenes and interactive-cutscenes that I felt I was sitting through more of the game than actually playing it.

I don't know much about Doom but I expect it'll be more replayable due to not having to sit through as many cutscenes and story segments as Wolfenstein.

Wolf isn't even in the same league.

Here's the thing:
I like TNO, but it has some meh gameplay elements (Mostly when it does stealth) as well as running like shit even with a powerful rig (Its not unplayable, but just annoying sometimes due to using the shitty ID Tech 5 and isn't optimized well).

Doom is shorter, but has a lot of replay value with the snap maps, and is fun as fuck (I liked the gunplay better in Doom then TNO). It also runs on potatoes and is well worth it.

I say Doom.
