It's really not, if you've yet to play it and are expecting either:

Be prepared to be sorely disappointed.

As a game it's the most linear, repetitive, boredom inducing game you'll play this millennium.

It is also inherently a painfully easy game. I laughed out loud when I realised a core game mechanic is the ability to summon 2 players to do anything remotely difficult for you, if you so please. However given that you're also able to run past every single enemy, bosses aside, without getting touched, it's unnecessary anyway.

It's a millennials concept of a challenging game. It holds your hand to extreme lengths under the guise of being some hardcore title.

I went in blind and platinumed it in 10 days, never having played a Souls game before.

Like every game (and every other medium, at that) it entirely depends on what you like. I enjoyed it for the eldritch lore, the gothic environmental style, difficult but not impossible enemies and bosses, and co-op. But I can see why it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea.

In fairness I could have done it a lot quicker but I spent a lot of time wasting about in the chalice dungeons because it was the only part that was remotely fun for me.

I loved Demon Souls and Dark Souls, but I can't get into BB. I was really enjoying it at first, bit after beating BSB I just lost interest. I'll probably try to pick it up again but right now there's other games that have my attention

There are undoubtedly some drawbacks to the game as well. I didn't like how grindy the character and world progression tended to be, especially in the chalice dungeons. The BB servers are sorely in need of an upgrade, and the game only takes about 2 hours to play through if you know what you're doing. Its popularity has also inevitably given it Portal syndrome, making it a magnet for the most annoying fanbase possible.

Its overrated at most, /v/ like to shill as a trolling bullshit.

I do agree with the repetitiveness and OP co-op, but I liked it nonetheless. And when I say difficult bosses, I still mean the least difficult of any Soulsborne game.

Not a masterpiece by any stretch, but I don't believe it's worth passing by entirely.
