Okay /v/, I've never played Kingdom Hearts. One of my close friends is in love with Kingdom Hearts, so I need something from you
ELI5; Kingdom Hearts Lore

>>381460651
a better way to do this is to play part one and part 2, ignore the plot because it's fucking retarded.
then play part 3 and be disappointed.
Don't take pic related 100% seriously but it's a start
A long time ago a war between keyblade users happened and split up the worlds (each world is either from a Disney movie like Peter Pan, Hercules, Lion King and more, or an original world often filled with Final Fantasy characters). Keyblades are exactly what they sound like, they lock and unlock things with some having special powers. After that war, a keyblade master named Xehanort launched a plan to cause another keyblade war so he may obtain the ultimate weapon, the [chi]blade. After a few setbacks, he was mostly successful, but had to become a heartless (the antagonist of KH1) and a nobody (the antagonist of KH2). A heartless is a dark being created when the heart is separated from the body (the emotional heart, not the physical one), while a nobody is the remains of the body after this occurs.
Two boys named Sora and Riku are taken from their home along with their friend Kairi. Through a few adventures, they each fight these heartless and nobodies and deal with many forces of darkness and light mainly motivated by Xehanort's plans. KH3 is intended to be the final battle between the combined forces of light and dark which is all a part of Xehanort's plans.
Make sense? Now go play KH1, KH2, and BBS and you'll be ready for KH3.
