It's sad to see console games becoming (almost) better than PC at this point.

Steam is the dominant provider of PC games. Not just online but overall. There is no reason for them to do big sales like they used to when there were still serious competition from brick and mortar and the slow diminishing skepticism towards digital purchases.

Also, they no longer have a bunch of older games to wow you with since you already got them in sales past. The only "fun" I have with steam sales these days is to compare their best deals with CD key sites. The latter usually wins and that's their normal price.
