Honestly, I don't think any of the bosses in this game are all that difficult. The spider tank v2 is kinda annoying though. And the plant that gives you the plasma beam, come to think of it.

I'm guessing the trouble comes from the part where he chases you around. If you aren't good at space jumping he can juggle you a bit, and he does a lot of contact damage if I recall correctly.
