It's true though, the only thing somewhat redeeming the anime is Aoi Yuuki.
It has absolutely zero of Tanya's conflicts and calculating personality since they almost entirely cut out all internal monologue, it skips a fuckton of scenes that are important to the world building and characters, and straight up removes a fuckton of things including all of Being X's angels and subordinates to both simplify the story and get to a halfway decent stopping point after 1 cour. Even the Manga is significantly better and that's absolutely full of copy pasted faces and poses.

The ending makes it clear Metallia still wants to take over the world and spread her swamp.

The way her character progressed was less "going from evil to good" and more her learning to appreciate and care about the people who appreciate her (Visco, Hundred Knight namely).

I wouldn't say Metallia is just pure evil at any point either, but I'd be reluctant to say she's a "good guy" or "a good person", even though she saves the day.
