Just out of curiosity, is there a Nintendo Switch supply shortage in Japan like there is in the west? Any of our posters in the east around to answer?
>>
in stores - yes. you can still get them online for a 5,000 yen markup though
>>
>>381435576
It's even worse, Nip stores are holding lotteries for a chance to BUY a Switch.
>>
>>381435576
>Nintendo apologized for shortages in japan yesterday and promised more units starting in July after Splatoon their biggest new seller in japan will be out already.
You tell me anon
>>
>>381435576
Some Gamestops around me just got random resupplies of switches. They had a bunch of bundles online too, but they sold out quick.

Not sure how true it is but I heard that the Nintendo is getting screwed over by the manufactories they are signed with. Apparently, it's the same manufacturer that makes Apple products and Apple has priority over Nintendo because it's more lucrative and that's why they have such a problem restocking quickly.

Again I'm not sure if that is true, but people whine about it being "artificial scarcity" but I feel like that practice would only be effective for the initial release, feel like that would only hurt a company at this point.
>>
>>381436343
it's fucking over nintendo is finished
>>
its even worse in japan
>>
>>381435576
Yes, can confirm. I got one on preorder but have never seen one on the shelf. Same goes for that mini famicom
>>
half the switches ever made are just sitting on ebay with a $150 markup

gg nintendo

>like there is in the west
Americas*
>>
>>381437579
>being sold for 110€ more than US
No shit it's not going to sell out at a same rate with that price.
>>
>>381437579
it goes without saying europeans are poor
>>
>>381437725
Only $10 more according to Amazon but I don't know if that includes taxes.
Only reason why it hasn't sold out is because it doesn't have Fifa yet and Nintendo fans hold off until there are games.

>>381437756
That's southern/estern Europe. Here, people are just not easily fooled by hype.
>>
>>381438401
>Only $10 more according to Amazon but I don't know if that includes taxes.
That's scalping price, the scalped Switches in US are cheaper than the ones in EU stores.
>>
It's being sold for $140 over MSRP on Japanese Amazon.
>>
>>381438502
>EU is one country
>>
>>381438502
All electronics are more expensive here. 25% tax + recently added +$12/kg on items that use specific chemicals.
>>
>>381438760
Okay, Scandinavian countries then. Shit's fucking expensive here. I still bought one.
>>
>>381437579
Dumb kroonnigger
>>
>>381438401
Cant the Japanese just buy it from Europe then? They're not region locked now.
>>
It's bad. I keep hearing about yurop not having a shortage

How does yurop have so many

tfw no one's buying switch in my country
>>
>>381441604
They cost $400+ here, partially thanks to our amazing 24% electronics taxes. The EU countries where they are reasonably priced are actually running out of stock too.
>>
>>381435576
> like there is in the west?
like ther is in the usa*
switch is overfilling the shelves here
t. european
>>
>>381440090
I assume it would cost more to import than to just buy it locally.

>americans have child mentality and keep buying everything nintendo
>europeans are to intelligent too buy nintendo
hmmm
>>
>>381441604
There's a shortage everywhere except Sweden and Poland and such. Stop listening to sonybros.
>>
>>381435576
Yes, it's even worse than in the west because demand is high all around the country, you won't have any luck at small stores or cities. The new shipments get sold out in a matter of hours or even minutes and scalpers can charge anywhere from $100 to $200 extra on each unit at Amazon and other marketplaces.

Can't speak for europe but here in aussie land it's really marked up in price. My two friends who got one imported them from the US.

>>381442141
>to intelligent to buy nintendo
>spend all their money on sony and fifa
hmmm...something's not adding up
>>
>>381436860
The shortages are mostly due to the lack of the NAND flash memory used in the Switch and smartphones and tablets, every tech giant is gobbling them up like candy and it's going to take some time before production is ramped up to match demand.

>>
>>381442462
Why are the Switches that includes 2 amiibo cheaper than the regular ones?
>>
>>381435576

There are no real shortages. Nintendo create artificial scarcity by only shipping a small number of switches in order to make it look rare and drive up demand. They did the same thing with the NES Classic, 3DS and Wii
>>
>>381442827
It's EB Games (Gamestop under a different name). They aren't very bright.
>>
>>381441604

It's $100 more expensive there I think.

Plus Europe doesn't really like Nintendo as much as the rest of the world does.
>>
Shortages are worldwide as they are being capped at the manufacturing level on how many they can produce
>>
>>381443165
>Plus Europe doesn't really like Nintendo as much as the rest of the world does.
Too bad we have such a shit taste in video games.
>>
The Switch sold out in 5 minutes during one resupply in Japan
>>
>>381443019
We've been through this, and I know you know it.
They're competing with the giant that is Apple for parts for their system. NAND chips to be specific.

Where? Burgerland?

I see these turds sitting on the shelf whenever I go to a store.
>>
>>381441752
No Sana no life
>>
>>381443468

Get off the drugs, mate.
>>
>>381443263
You can't really blame em, they love soccer so much the playstations are mostly Fifa machines

They do buy other games on occasion, but Fifa is always in the top 10 games. Those sports games are probably the only reason EA still exists. I hate EA.
>>
>tfw spent $440 for a Switch with Zelda
>>
Why should I buy a Switch for 350€+60€ game + 60€ controller = 470€
when I can get a PS4 with a game for 220€?
>>
Worse than the states, even.

Yurop's only place where on the whole they're remotely close to regularly available.
>>
>>381443739
So, what's your proof that the shortages are artificial?

Those sports games are still better than degenerate trash like nep so I'd rather those be system sellers
