Does Valve have any creative integrity left?
They have become a corporate machine where very few work hours can generate huge sums of profit due to how their Steam platform works, all products are for the most part digital and they even acquire free labor from the community that supports it.
If Half-Life 3 were to be released it would no doubt make a significant profit, but has Valve gotten so accustomed to the monotony and simplicity of their Steam system that they just don't want invest so many development hours into a game which will probably have a lower work hours/profit ratio compared to their virtual economy?
Or are they just afraid to tarnish their image (by not living up to the hype) to the masses of gamers that happily relish in their subpar, anticonsumer systems and products which the company has now relied upon?

No, all of their writes left. With all of them gone, especially Marc Laidlaw, I've got little faith that HL3 will have a quality narrative experience.

Reminder that Half Life 3 NEVER EVER
Let's be real--People have always been aware they've piggybacked on ideas, concepts, and full products from teams of other people, essentially buying them out for themselves ever since Gabe struck diamond with Steam.
That's the only thing Valve has been in business for since Half-Life 2.

It's more like the hype for half life is so huge that they couldn't possible hope to meet them
