The first game (Shadow Dragon), the second (Gaiden/Echoes: SoV) and the third ([New] Mystery of the Emblem) all take place in the same world over the span of a few years and have four characters in each game: Camus, A.K.A Zeke, A.K.A Sirius, and the three Whitewing sisters.

Awakening takes place in the same world as well but far into the future and Fates has three characters from Awakening who fucked off to another world to go on an adventure.

Why did FE15 make Teeta younger and less mature than somebody you'd expect to be Camus's type? It's a common anime trope for guys to get multiple love interests, dude. Given how many options FE characters had for spouces in FEs 4 to 8, it's pretty much a given for at least a couple of pairings's romantic tensions to go unresolved as they hook up with other people.

But then Cordelia happened. And then Gamergate happened. And now every single character in fiction who ever expresses romantic tension for somebody immediately gets labeled "cuck", and I just get the overwhelming urge to just go back in time and change my past so that I never get attached to Fire Emblem.
