They sacrificed things just so the Pokemon models could look as pretty as possible, I have no doubts about how the game will look.

The game's problems will just be in features and difficulty like the last few Pokemon releases.

They aren't going to stray away from their current formula. If they want to do the Switch any justice they need to do what Silver/Gold did and just completely revamp the series. But you're probably going to get 30hrs of tutorials followed by no endgame.

The graphics are probably the one thing the game will get right. The 3DS games, besides the garbage framerate, look pretty great in battle.

If they're smart they'll use Nintendo's engine or get UE4 or something. The gamefreak Pokemon teams tend to be absolutely garbage at making engines.

All 800 Pokemon already have high poly models, so that won't be a problem. But honestly they have no business making their own engine these days. It's not necessary.

Gamefreak has been recruiting people who can make models on the level of PS VIta and WIi U.

So it's clearly gonna be a new game.
